So I have the Zack Snyder Blue Ray Justice League, which comes in two parts. TheTVDB has it only as one part. How the heck do I put this into Plex so it gets recognized correctly? When I put both files in (Part 1 and Part 2) Plex does put them together in one “lump” but will only show and play the first file. Trying to fix the match (so there’s more than one part) offers no solution.
See also Naming Conventions - #2 by tom80H which addresses this issue

See the Movies Split Across Multiple Files section.
If Plex has difficulty differentiating the Snyder cut from the original, add the IMDB ID to the folder and file names (see documentation for syntax). The two versions have different IMDB IDs, and Plex will use the ID to identify the correct version.
Consider combining the two parts into one movie. Not all Plex clients play nice with multi-part movies.
Thanks! That worked perfectly.
Actually, it wasn’t the Snyder from the original, it was just getting those two parts to play well together. And I didn’t want to combine them, but the answer above solved it.
So I’m having this issue right now. I do not want to merge the files together as I know some clients don’t play nice with this. I would prefer to keep the two files separate. There used to be an option once Plex combined the files in the more menu which said “Split apart” but that does not seem to be present anymore. This is how I’ve been dealing with LOTR Extended for years. Did Plex really remove this feature or did they just move it somewhere that makes no sense???
The solution was given above. I did what they said here:
Which part are you referring to? I opted to create my own Justice League folder, and then name it part 1 and part 2, it is still combining them and no longer gives me the option to split the files like I’ve done for ages with Plex and LOTR. So frustrated with Plex on this right now…
Right, and though I prefer the merged files Plex doesn’t always play nice with keeping audio in sync when hitting the merge point. Just tested this movie on an NVidia Shield Pro (2019) and the audio got out of sync once it hit the second disc. I merged the two MKV files with MKVtoolnix GUI. I experienced an identical issue with the Lord of the Rings movies.
Hence why I recommend to merge the two parts after ripping them losslessly.
If you recompress them first, chances are higher that you encounter such unpleasant effects.
That’s exactly what I did, there was no compression involved.
Took the two parts straight out of MakeMKV and merged them together using MKVtoolnix and there is still an issue with audio sync once Plex reaches the merge point.
Note: This is not an issue in Infuse (aside from loosing Atmos in the decode)
You probably are, but just to check - latest versions of makemkv and mkvtoolnix?
There were some semi-recent changes related to audio alignment during scene/angle changes. I wonder if those could be related.
It’s also possible to do this with ffmpeg. I’m wondering if you’d have different results.

I’m glad I found this thread as I received this movie for Christmas. The one thing that I found is that I can’t move from one segment in part 1 to another segment in part 2. I have to move to the end of part 1, let Plex transition to part 2 and then I might be able let me move to the right area on the movie. I tried multiple times to select a chapter and it just wouldn’t skip to it unless it was in part 1.
