I noticed that after upgrading to PMS 1.19.3.2831, PMS would crash on my Windows Server 2012 machine, about every 15-30 min. Upgrading to 1.19.3.2843 did not help the issue, nor did reinstalling. I ended up reverting back to 1.19.1.2701 and everything is holding stable. Plex Media Server.zip (905.3 KB)
I’ve attached the logs from when it was unstable for help in troubleshooting.
Same problem with version 1.19.3.2843 and .2831 on Win10 Pro 1909 which started yesterday. This prompted me to install the .2843 update with no improvement in plex stability today. It was crashing while analyzing for intros under 2831. After updating plex has crashed twice within the last few hours
I have a slightly more serious issue in that the last two nights (during scheduled analysis) I get a BSOD on my Windows 8.1 Plex server. BSOD error is “kernel_data_inpage_error” which I believe is usually related to either faulty disks or SATA cables (unlikely as I’ve checked all disks for errors, and this is a brand new error). It can also apparently be caused by software conflicts, It’s such a hard crash that the server cannot reboot on its own as it cannot write the crash dump to disk.
It cannot be coincidence that this BSOD has happened two nights in a row since I enabled the Intro skip feature. I can see from my CPU and disk IO logs that analysis is started by Plex at 1am as scheduled, and it successfully identifies the intros for a lot of my media, but within an hour or two I get the BSOD. During the day I’ve manually analysed a lot of seasons without issue. I keep a close log of disk and system temperatures at all times, and although the analysis can increase temps a little bit it is not at unusual levels when this crash happens.
I suspect that I have some dodgy media somewhere in my library that seriously upsets the analysis process. However I can’t identify what media is causing the issue since the Plex logs don’t identify the media being analysed at the time of the crash. I have run scans on my media storage drives and there are no errors reported, and no issues identified in Event Viewer either.
For now I’ve disabled the Intro skip feature as I can’t risk any more BSODs. If anyone has any ideas of what I should try next to identify the issue I would appreciate it.
Same Issue here - My Plex was running fairly good on my Windows Server 2012 R2, but a couple weeks ago I started getting that Plex could not find content. It was only happening occasionally - like once a week - when I saw the new software update to 2843 and thought that Plex had found the problem, so I installed it and now I can’t hardly get plex to run at all and when I try to watch any show or movie I get something like Unable to Load Media.
I was just looking at totally removing Plex and starting from scratch when I saw that others were having exactly the same problem.
Hopefully plex will get this solved soon!

I followed another Plex users post (Buddyl33) and reverted back to Version 1.19.1.2701 - Plex has been Rock Solid ever since. It’s been running great for the last 3 hours or so.
Also looks like there is another Post with pretty much the same Problems:
I’ve been running 1.19.1.2701 for 24 hours now with out so much as a hiccup. I know there is one more version between it and 2831, but I just picked it since it was done in April. I would recommend any of you having issues revert to it for the time being.
Mine started crashing earlier this week after Windows 10 did an update and rebooted the computer. Rock solid before the update, runs for only 2-5 minutes with NO USERS afterward.
I set the found tasks near the bottom of Settings | Server | Library from “Scheduled Task and when media is added” to NEVER and it stopped crashing. I’m sure I’ve lost something important, but not as important as having the server RUNNING and the ability to play my media!
I upgraded to Version 1.19.3.2843 this evening which had a release note about fixing a crash when analyzing intros on older hardware. After the update was complete, I re-enabled the four things and Plex crashed within two minutes. So, I turned them off again and it has been running for the past hour.
I’m see similar issues. Crashing during deep analysis. I also noticed my crash logs are failing to upload. I can supply logs, but assume there may be PII in them…
I have had my server crashing repeatedly over the last 3 days and it is usually rock solid. Nothing on the host machine has changed, and from the looks of it I’m having the same issue as everyone else in this thread. Server version 1.19.3.2843
Theirs me thinking I was going mad that I had malware on my system, as per the Plex remedy for frequent crashes.

The repeated Plex Media Server crashes may be caused by crashes of the network-related mswsock. dll Windows library. The mswsock. dll crashes most commonly occur due to interference from malware or adware DLLs (or, very occasionally, from DLLs for legitimate programs)
Seems to be solid now going back to version 1.19.3.2764.
I have the same issue. I upgraded plex from 1.19.3.2764 to 1.19.3.2831 and it was crashing every day. Than I upgraded to 19.3.2843, which I thought is going to solve the problem. I went back to 1.19.3.2764 and it is woking flawlessly. Probably it is the last stable version. Does anybody know if the latest version 1.19.3.2852 solves the problem?
