Server Version#: 1.32.5.7349 running on Ubuntu 22.04 Server
Player Version#: 9.30.0.3354 (277e0fd) on S10+ Android 12 and 9.29.1.3463(1a71eb3) on S21 with Android 13
With latest update of the App (was working a few days ago, no change in configs):
Connecting locally to Servers works flawlessly
Connecting to the server from the same remote device/mobile network using the Web App also works fine.
But on remote networks the App gives the:
“PlexServer1 is Currently Unavailable”
“Please verify that the server is running and has a network connection.” Error message
Allowing insecure connections (not recommended) made no diference.
On the server side the remote connection tab shows the green “Fully accessible outside your network”
I don’t have an answer, but wanted to say I’m watching this, as I’m having a related issue I think.
I don’t run the server; a friend does and I’m trying to access it remotely. My PC works with the Windows app and my Android app works on cell, but once I connect to my wifi, I can’t access any servers. I had none of these issues around August 1st and nothing has changed with my ISP or home wifi since then, so it has to be something new Plex is doing.
Hope we get some insight into what’s different all of a sudden.
After some more testing around, it looks like something is up with the Android App.
The same issue happens with player version 9.29.1.3463(1a71eb3)(S21 with Android 13), but PlexAmp for Android and Plex App for iOS work from remote without issues.
On the local network all the Apps work fine
Some more digging/testing:
Updated my App to version 9.31.0.3774 (fb6a731) [Beta branch] and now get the error message:
“Error Loading Content”
“The content failed to load. This may be because your servers are unavailable or your Internet connection is down. Check your connection and retry”
