Autoplay freezing on next episode after latest player update

So autoplay next episode after a shuffle is broken on the Android player? I just used this today and it advances to the next episode just fine. Unless I’m missing something here?

doesn’t have to be on shuffle, and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t, in my experience it happens more often than not when a file is direct play.

Issue still present. Waiting for an update.

I feel like it’s getting worse and worse. now i sometimes have to play the sequence 3 times before it works properly

Yeah it is certainly getting worse. Sometimes I get a full ā€œCannot play media item errorā€. But most often have to try to play it three times…

This issue has been getting worse not better. Basic functionality for a media player. Come on guys!!

Same issue on a Sony TV running Plex 8.21.2.27212 on Android TV version 9, march 5 2021 patch.

That does it. Bugs aren’t fixed, support is lacking, this paying customer is switching to Emby. Goodbye Plex.

Hey bigwheel any updates at all? This is quite a breaking bug and seems to impact many users. I can supply detailed logs to help it along.

Could we get an update? This is very frustrating, and it’s not a great fix to have to use an ancient old Roku stick on my new Android TV because the Plex app doesn’t play through multiple episodes. I’d be happy (as I think most of us would be) to provide logs or help with testing. I’ve tried playing several different series without success. The player just stops, most of the time on a black screen, occasionally it seems it will stop on a final frame of the show and just hang there until there is user intervention to end the episode and begin a new one. I’ve tried having ā€˜repeat’ on, but it doesn’t make any difference.

I clicked to finish a show on the Android home screen this afternoon, my cool tv took me straight to the show. I proceeded to mix up drywall compound and work on my ceiling repair… about 20 minutes in the TV hung at the end of the episode and I remembered I should’ve switched to the Roku stick… and my fingers were full of crap. So, I’m checking in today :slight_smile:

plex got a new gui again but the error still exists. Perfect. there you can see how the priorities are

The Android app is BROKEN in more ways than one.

Why fix bugs when you can make the UI shiny and add retro games?

OMG, the first post was on July 2020 and still haven’t fix yet. LOL.
Anyway,
I switch back to a lower version. It working fine now.

Yup, just adding my post to keep this thread alive for hopefully long enough for Plex to start updating us and even better fixing the issue #soon once in July really isn’t OK
