I understand that you’re likely fighting an uphill battle with brain-dead execs trying to capture the wallets of new blood but you gotta have a sense of self respect and ensure you produce a product with a sound foundation.
Hope things get better with admin because it’s clearly not working - good luck.
Is there anywhere that I can upload my latest log capture to help with troubleshooting? If so should I remove the lines showing that the media is playing?
Just chipping in to say I’ve been watching this thread in disappointment for over a year now.
I used to be a firm fan of this program and have been a paid user for many years but of late it’s clear that they’re more concerned with attracting new users with shiny updates than in resolving fundamental long term bugs.
Plex, you’re doing a bad job and you should feel bad. Get your S together.
/sigh… Not that it matters, but I too am starting to see this now. I see this ALL the time on the webclient. After a show is finished, I will get an error and I have to click the x, and then re-start the channel again.
But now on my shield, when the show is over, and the next one starts it will stop and I just get the spinning yellow circle… If I tap my back button, and go back to the guide, I can then go to the next show.
Also, and I don’t know if this is related… But now the guide doesn’t change to the next time block either. it stays on the previous show’s time block until I exit the guide and come back in to it. Roku devices don’t do this. Sure am glad, I get to start experiencing an issue that is once again, over a year old and plex can’t be bothered with fixing it.
It used to work (most of the time) up until a couple of months ago where it started to never work.
Plex has the advantage of not having proper competition in their business field, that’s why they get away with ignoring bugs in central functions for years.
@BigWheel So, this is crippling all Android TV users, and it’s been a year. Is it not time to make this bug a priority now? In the gaming business, something like this would have killed our company by now.
Seeing the same issues as everyone else here with FireTV/android-TV.
For a lot of my content, Plex will play one file the first time I start a season/playlist, but then the next file will fail. This seems to be specific to 265/HEVC files (particularly with embedded PGS subtitles, though the subtitle workarounds I found here didn’t fix it).
This has been going on for months (actually years from the looks of it). My partner has been demanding we kill our Plex build and move to something else, as the experience has become terrible. Come on guys, we need fixes to chronic bugs and not the ability to stream retro games.
I didn’t get Plex for games or podcasts or ad-based streaming…
Exact same problem I have been having for months if not years. This is so stupid how long this bug has been going on for. I have a 1 year old I would like to have her watch back to back episodes of cartoons while I do dishes or take a freaking crap on the toilet and auto play works one time then it doesn’t. Fix your shiet Plex.
