In DSM 7, user “Plex” is completely abandoned.

  1. The new username, PlexMediaServer, will not be able to access the media in Homes.
    It’s urged you create a global shared folder (“media” ?) and move all media files there

  2. It’s important that the NAS LAN address and your computer LAN address are on the same subnet in order to claim it when using the browser

  3. Another way to claim the server is using the “Plex Claim Token” during package installation.

Setting Permissions changed as well. Again, user “Plex” is abandoned and no longer applicable
