I am having a similar issue with the HD Homerun Prime and Plex. The tuner sees the channel and I can play it with window media center, however when I go into Plex the channel is not available to even enable.
This worked several months back but starting in October of 2021 I was not able to view this channel any longer.
Could it be that the EPG guide that Plex is using is not able to determine the channel and unable to assign it a title and thus it is not showing up in Plex as expected. Previously this channel showed up as CW but not it is not updating with a label/title like the other channels indicated in the plex guide.
Additionally what is the correct way to filter out non HD channels so that my guide only has HD ones available. Currently in my Nvidia Shield Plex app I don’t even have the ability to filter between the two.
Nothing to really add other than same issues here for me. Comcast, disable 600’s channels, server side recognizes them as 1000s, but the guide on all clients map to the disabled channels. I only have android clients, so unclear about others.
What is the benefit of disabling the 600’s channels and using the 1000’s? I have been using Live TV and DVR for about 5 months now and have Comcast. Wondering if I am missing out on something.
the 600s are the old model of Comcast’s internal channel guide. They realized a few years ago, that the groupings they had weren’t numerically sustainable with HD channels, etc, and they started over with the 1000s. Post channel 1000, the groups do make a little more sense.
The assumption is at one point they will deprecate pre-1000 channels, but i can’t imagine they will deal with the millions of senior citizens calling in confused. That what this application is for me, my parents, and trying to prevent them from asking why there’s 5 versions of every channel. I disable the duplicates on the HDHR, and prevent the question before it’s asked.
That being said, 6 months later, I can’t use Plex with it, so…
Yeah, I have just been using 600s and only adding in a few 1000s that I didn’t see in the 600 range. I haven’t had any issues that I am aware of, but it does seem like some of the issues in this thread is related to certain EPG based on location.
