ETA for Kabel Deutschland regional lineups?

Thank you. I have referred these to our provider

Frankly speaking I reported this already for at least two months, but good to know that this taken care of. Should I use the official form (does it still exist) in the future for better issue tracking from your side?

I see now references to some of these here Bad Plex EPG Guide Data - - #84 by Coxeroni

Continue to report these in the forums - and I do not object to bumping and repeated pinging if there does not appear to be any acknowledgement

You can also use the online form and would be better to double up and mention here as well

Ok thanks for the info. I am going to keep informed about the outstanding issues
Btw the last time I set up my DVR I was not asked which lineup I want to use. Is this something new or did I do something wrong?

If you go through the country and post code screens then there should be a drop down of lineups appearing with one pre-selected.

If you are adding a DVR to an existing setup, then it would be use the previously selected lineup

If you do not get the dropdown for lineups after post code entry, then please get me server logs with debug enabled. I would only expect this to happen if the post code is linked to one lineup only and that is not the case for your post code

I set up a new Plex instance but I am sure no post code appeared. Nevermind because what I received is the line up that I wanted as nothing was missing.
So no issues currently with this.

Something is happening, channel 313 (Home & Garden TV) now has an EPG, but with some holes,
e.g. 15.10.19 17:40 to 19:20 and and 22:00 to 23:45 UTC+1.
I will monitor this and let you @sa2000 know if this resolves by itself.

Channel 119 on the Munich East lineup is again wrong as kabel 1 classics HD, but should be “kabel eins HD”. kabel eins classics HD is already present as channel 335.

Thanks. 108 looks wrong as well for the Munich East lineup

True, I always forget the SD variants since I don’t use/need them.

I have referred it to our provider.

This was corrected before for “Kabel Deutschland Munich (West) Digital” and same needs to happen to “Kabel Deutschland Munich (East) Digital”

The “Kabel Deutschland Munich (East) Digital” lineup now has these channels

108 : KABEL1 (Kabel 1)
119 : KABEL1HD (Kabel 1 HDTV)

Thx for the effort.

I have a response from our provider.

I am afraid children’s series are not supported to the same extent as other series. In most cases, airings of children series are combination of different episodes aired together and combined randomly.

So in these cases airings are identified by date

Well I agree that these kid’s shows are more demanding than others, but still this feels like a cheap excuse from your provider, because

  • a) some of the Paw Patrol episodes in the guide do have S/E information listed,
  • b) the airings might be “random” in terms of S01E01 might be followed by S04E07 (although this is a rare exception), but more often these are two subsequent episodes. See the link below from Wunschliste, where there are only four out of 41 airings which are not subsequent episodes (the ones with a “+” after SXXEYY). If we move away from thetvdb numbering, most of the airings can be considered as one single episode (at least on nick jr.), just with two different “stories” aired directly after one another without any intro for the second story (see how the two guide providers linked below handle it).
  • c) the episodes are not secret, e.g. nick jr announces their names on their homepage (ok no S/E information there)
  • d) other guide providers are able to number all aired episodes (see Paw Patrol, News, Termine, Streams auf TV Wunschliste and https://www.tvdigital.de/tv-sendung/paw-patrol/wo-ist-gustavos-gitarre-die-suche-nach-den-yoga-ziegen/bid_146444938). Wunschliste uses a SXXEYYa/SXXEYb approach, tv-digital just considers the airings as one episode or only numbers the first one.

So all in all this is a manageable task and the answer from your provider does not convince me. If you could pass my answer back to your provider we might still be able to improve the quality of the Plex guide. I think I am not the only parent who wants to taped episodes for their kids.

Other kid’s shows, which are aired in single episode airings, suffer from the same problem:

See the screenshot of the upcoming airings of “Nella the Princess Knight”, where there is a happy mix of airings with and without S/E information. Again, all of them are single episode airings.
I could go on with other shows and channels (e.g. Boomerang, cartoon network etc.) where there is the same behavior over and over again. So no, this is not an issue of randomly combined multi-episode airings.

And to complete the picture, that the problem is poor guide quality not only related to kid’s shows, a random selection of shows with and without S/E data:
Sturm der Liebe, aired on 112 - DASERSHD (ARD - Das Erste HDTV):

Gute Zeiten - Schlechte Zeiten aired on 114 RTLHD (RTL HDTV):

Mein Kind, dein Kind - Wie erziehst du denn? aired on 117 VOXHD (VOX HDTV)

Elefant, Tiger & Co. aired on different channels, the one with S/E seems to be 166 MDSHD (MDR Sachsen HDTV), others without are 162 SWRRPHD (SWR Fernsehen (Rheinland-Pfalz) HDTV), 163 WDRKNHD (WDR Köln HDTV) and others:

All screenshots taken 02.12.19 around 10:00 UTC+1.

I guess you get my point that I simply cannot accept the fairy tale, that only kid’s shows are affected. It is a general problem with the guide all over the place. I could post 200 shows more with insufficient guide data, the ones I posted were simply those I could quickly find with and without S/E data. Don’t get me started with all the shows that don’t have that data at all.
If I were you, I would put pressure on my guide provider to fix this mess. If I simply browse through the EPG overview, I have the impression that under 25 % of the shows have S/E data, are you guys happy with these numbers? I hope you are not… I am not happy frankly speaking. And please don’t tell me again that I have to report every single show I am interested in, because this must be a joke.

With regards to the gaps where the guide shows:
image

I have noticed on this schedule http://www.nick.de/programm that the Nick Jr. times when there are gaps, this shows Nickelodian program - but when checking the Nickelodian schedule for the same time, it is a different program

And this is a screenshot from our provider when we first raised this issue to show the gap is in their data. They are waiting for a response

I am attaching the EPG schedule for Monday for this channel - I see there are some episode numbers. I have not checked if they are correct. As mentioned before, there is less sequencing for children channels

625 TiVo Schedule - Airings for 9 December 2019.zip (14.8 KB)

I guess the icon is just a place holder, in the end nick jr is a channel that belongs to the nickelodeon network.
These airings seem to be filled on short notice I believe. I guess the problem there lies with the channel not with tivo and probably might be impossible to fix.

When looking at the nickJr. schedule here http://www.nick.de/programm
do they show the right programs for where there is a TBA entry in the EPG?

Can’t find any TBA airings anymore, just those without any title, like today 12.12.19 at 18:00 UTC+1. Tbh both nickjr and nick.de schedules seem to be wrong, since there times overlap and the OTA EPG just displays two episodes of Peppa

Edit: Those airings without title are also gone now and still cannot find any TBA airings… Which is a good thing

I ran in a new problem. Just noticed that in my Kabel Deutschland Niedersachsen Lineup the RTL Niedersachsen channel (just to let you know the importance: RTL is Germany’s most watched TV station) changed to 103 RTL MainFr (different region) and even worse: doesn’t come with any EPG information (To Be Announced).

Thanks
