I will merge this thread with the existing one here Hauppauge wintv-dualhd not being detected after 7.2 shield update

Was it after nVidia Experience update to 7.2 or 7.2.1 ?
What is the make and model of the DVR - Everyone else (except for one other) are Europe based and would be using a DVB-T European Model

Could you tell me exactly what make and model ? and perhaps share server logs?

Would like to see server logs please for users of the dualHD model 1590

I’m getting a very similar issue. I had a USB tuner running fine earlier this year but stopped using plex for a while. I have just started using plex again. I have updated the server to the latest version and it won’t find my USB tuner.

This is on a 2017 16GB shield with all the latest updates that have just been released and the latest version of the PMS(Version 1.14.1.5488). Must be a software issue if the older version of PMS picked up the USB tuner OK.

I’m based in the United States (Texas) with a dualHD 1595. (You’re lucky I kept the box for some reason.)

OK thanks - our tests show that the 1595 gets detected - but may be failing later when scanning channels

Shield 7.2.1

Still not detecting usb tuner asks specifically for HDHomerun device.

Weird… The server shows the tuner as not connected, but when I add a tuner there it is. It even scans for channels. In fact, re-scanning for channels fixed the tuner entirely. It works just fine now. Basically what happened was I had to set the tuner up again. Wish I tried that yesterday.

Good luck guys! I’ll come back if it stops working.

Some status updates:

  • Nvidia is acquiring one of the 1590 devices and is looking into why the device might not work from their side.
  • I’m digging into the dvblogic code when I have a minute (as I went on holiday yesterday through Christmas/New Years, but I have a bit of spare time here and there) to determine why the error message about compound devices is printed.
  • My 1595 ATSC device works perfectly here with my SHIELD running 7.2, so it looks like it’s just the 1590 DVB-T devices having issues.
  • There is a second ATSC device, the 955Q, with known issues on the SHIELD but it’s not listed in the supported tuner list because of those issues. We’re not concerned with it in this thread.

Yeah, the 1595 works again, at least for me. I had to reconfigure it in order to fix the issue. I’d suggest everyone here try that, actually. Wouldn’t hurt.

Hi,
Unfortunately reconfiguration does not work for the 1590 model.
Done that. It’s not visible in any way by the Shield and PMS. :frowning:

Sorry to hear that. Good luck!

Thanks for the logs @Alexis_Sk @aaafsfsdafdsaf

The nVidia team looking into the problem

All cases are probably the 1590 DualHD model

@oudge your tuner is not a supported tuner but is community supported - the PCTV tripleStick 292e . The effort is going into fixing the problem for the Hauppauge WinTV DualHD 1590 model - Your logs do look different and there is no way of knowing if any fix would help in your case. Wait and see.

@KoasKenji - you are in the USA so I presume it would be the US 1595 model ? Please see posts above by @Ericbazinga

@jontyblack - I believe you are in New Zealand - could you tell me exactly which model of tuner. Is it as in Europe DVB-T 1590 model ?

sorry - i made a mistake. It is the same discovery error as the WinTV dualHD ones
.
