Update:
- nVidia will be working with Hauppauge to resolve the issue with the WinTV dualHD 1590 European model.
- The problem was as a result of the kernel being updated in the nVidia Shield from 3.10 to 4.9
We do not know how long it would take to have Hauppauge and nVidia fix the issue
I will update this forum thread as i get further feedback
@oudge - I suggest you contact the vendor for the PCTV triplestick 292e and inform them that the kernel on the Shield has been updated to 4.9 and they may need to patch their firmware

I have the 1595 Hauppauge win-tv dual TV tuner hooked up to a nvidia shield 500gig hard drive with plex. We’ll I did restarts, off and on, disconnect, reconnect, uninstall, reinstalled server and tuner, checked firmware and app updates, but to no avail. Walked out of the home to complete chores that were put on hold, when I returned, my wife was watching her shows, of course to my surprise, it was working again. But this isn’t the first time I had trouble. I had to revert to using the app, Live TV, that is pre-installed on nvidia shield as a back up because time and time again Plex is shown as unreliable for that game I don’t want to miss or my wife’s soaps. I like that all the TVs in the house are hooked up to plex through wifi (when working) but remote connection has lasted a total of three days out of the 6 months I have had the service.

Shield was upgraded to version 7.2 today. Live TV no longer works Cant tune any channels. Tuner is a Hauppauge WinTV USB
I deleted DVR and reinstalled. Seems Good now
I hit the same issue when I updated yesterday, but didn’t have time to troubleshoot. Today, after restarting the Shield, it still didn’t work so followed your results and deleted the DVR and re-added. That worked!
Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time I’ve had to do this after an update. I’m not sure there’s much the Plex team can do about it, though.
Is yours the Wintv-dualhd?
I can’t get mind to detect no matter what I try.

The only thing i can think whats different, is that my PMS reset it self after the update. So i was starting from scratch again.
Did you try factory reset of Shield?
I did. Same issue. I have been in contact with Nvidia support so hopefully they can help.
Something you can try is install the Live Channels app and see if it sees the USB tuner

Since the update Plex cannot find my Wintv-dualhd. Following sjmplex advice, I have tried looking for the device on Live Channels, but it cannot find it either…
I deleted the server, uninstalled updates, reinstalled both server and app, created a new server on my Nvidia Shield TV but still nothing.

Seems 7.2 Broke USB functionality. I have WinTV and also WD 1TB USB3 HDD in the other port… Both are working thankfully. Looks like I am lucky to still have DVR working.
This has been an issue for the longest time. Plex constantly looses track of hauppauge tuners (I have an hd-quad and a usb-dual) on shield/windows. Constantly having to remove/add them. Doesn’t happen with any other apps, doesn’t happen with my hdhomerun either.
This seems to be more than that. Someone tried with the Live Channels app and has same problem.
if you by chance enabled usb debug, your tuner won’t work in the port it reserves for device mode.
Thank you for this, I tried enabling and deactivating the USB debug, but Plex still cannot find my tuner. I tried factory reset and still not. Has anyone found a fix to this issue?
I dont know why the fix worked for me and not others. Seems I am very fortunate.
