It is the same model. Hopefully if they update the firmware for europe it will be available for New Zealand as well. I have already made the mVidia team aware
Thank you for the feedback - i will remove you from the list of users who are having the issue with the dualHD not being detected after the 7.2 update
If you have any issues, please raise separate forum topics providing logs / screenshots etc. Our support articles are here https://support.plex.tv/articles/
The problem was as a result of the kernel being updated in the nVidia Shield from 3.10 to 4.9 when the nVidia Experience was updated to 7.2 / 7.2.1
nVidia will be working with Hauppauge to resolve the issue with the WinTV dualHD 1590 DVB-T model.
WinTV dualHD users in US and Canada (model 1595) appear to require to go through DVR setup after this Shield update. Delete the DVR and re-create it
We do not know how long it would take to have Hauppauge and nVidia fix the issue
I will update this forum thread as i get further feedback
@oudge - I suggest you contact the vendor for the PCTV triplestick 292e and inform them that the kernel on the Shield has been updated to 4.9 and they may need to patch their firmware
As PCTV is classed on Hauppauge’s website as a ‘sister company’ to Hauppauge, I’m hoping (fingers crossed) that any resolution you provide may sort out my problems too.
Please find attached required logs concerning my Hauppauge dual tuner dvb-t which is not working since update 7.2, same with 7.2.1…Plex Media Server Logs_2018-12-22_12-47-29.zip (3.5 MB)
I have Hauppauge dual tuner dvb-t 1592 and I have the same issue

I am a new user to Plex Media Server on Nvidia Shield. Purchased a Hauppauge WinTV-Dual for use in the DVR portion of PMS. Disappointed to note that Plex does not ‘see’ the Hauppauge unit in setup. The Nvidia Shield unit does ‘see’ the Hauppauge USB stick with no issue.
I also purchased a AVerMedia [AVerTV Volar ] USB stick and the Plex does see that tuner. Unfortunately that OTA tuner is single channel. Plex DVR appears to have a ‘bug’ in that if live TV is in use a scheduled record event is overlooked or cannot be executed. After the scheduled record time is past, an on screen notification flashes the failed event. I am unsure why the DVR function does not automatically change channels or, at least, give an onscreen indication or opportunity to manually execute the channel change.
I’d attach the logs from the Plex Server, but, unfortunately, when I reset the Nvidia shield (warm reboot), the Plex Server could not ‘find’ the previously installed build and initiated a new build from scratch.
With the above 3 issues, the Plex TV is pretty much dead in the water for the functions I value most at this time. Seriously concerned about the value of a lifetime pass as well as the value of the Shield and Plex combo. Hoping the New Year brings a remedy to some or all of the issues.
If you go here they have test images for 7.2.2 and the tuner issue is one of the fixes. I have signed up just waiting for them to push to my Shield as it is a manual process.
I’m on the latest 7.2.2 test image and it now detects my 1597 (exactly the same as 1590 as far as I can tell, just reboxed with an English/Chinese Quick Start Guide for the South East Asia market.) but when scanning for new channels it only finds about 1/2 to 3/4 of my local OTA channels (New South Wales, Australia) and each time I scan, the list that it finds changes. It’s working perfectly fine on my PC with both Plex and WinTV8.5 but it’s just not playing ball with the Shield’s PMS DVR.
got the 7.2.2 too and having a similar issue than bmcroucher_outlook_com: finding only few channels when scanning and with variable result at each scan.
Moreover, the found channels do not play. I attach the Plex logs, which contain the following when tuning a channel:

My hardware is WinTV-dualHD 1592 (USB\VID_2040&PID_0265&REV_0100) and is working fine too on my pc
I have a 1590 in Denmark and the tuner is found in Plex and also in the live channels app. In plex it can find some of the channels and sometimes the hd-channels I was looking for. When l try to watch the channel it only tunes up 1 out of 20 times.
The live channels app does not find any stations.
Hi. My Hauppauge wintv was working fine on the shield and now i get a can’t tune channel error. I checked and it says device not found so i deleted it and readded it last night. Today i went to use it again and had the same error. checked again and it is “device not found” again. I can delete and re add but i shouldn’t have to keep doing this. it finds it but keeps dropping it. I am in the US by the way.
My WinTVDual Tuner no longer works. Deleted the device and now can’t add it again as it’s not detected. What are my options? Just selected Beta Update Channel. Anything else I can do? Cheers.
Some context please
Is it the 1595 model ?
Has this started after the nVidia Shield Experience 7.2 Update ?
Did you need to go through the delete DVR and recreate initially after the update to 7.2 ?
and are you having to repeat that now?
A link was provided by @adki1981here to the nVidia Shield call for testers of the fixes to the issues that came with 7.2 .
Can you capture logs when the issues arise - making sure debug logging is enabled beforehand
I have the 1590 in the UK and have got the new 7.2.2 fix applied via the Nvidia web page. This has fixed the problem of my tuner not being recognised but as above it only finds around 20% of the channels that I had before the update & the channels found do not tune in all of the time.
It is model 945128972500100. It did start happening after the 7.2 update. I had already readded it after the update. Then this happened again so i readded and then it happened again. I will check the log and upload when it happens again. I am sure it is a matter of time.
