How to correct matches when TVDB and The Movie Database are wrong?

Hi,

I’m trying to match a TV Show and it’s not matching because the TVDB and The Movie Datbase are both wrong. IMDB is correct for this particular TV show. Is there a way to make match/auto match feature to use IMDB instead of the other two?

Thanks.

Under Fix Match, Search Options, you can input the IMDB code into the Title field like this and see if that works.

Where can I find the imdb code for my show? Can’t seem to find it.

Found the code. It says No matches found.

Any other solutions anyone?

Does this mystery show have a name?

yes it’s The Avengers: Earth’s Mightest Heroes

A TV Show Library\
.....The Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes (2010)\
.........Season 01\
.............The Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes (2010) - S01E01.mp4

Produces instantly:

If you are using MP4 files (or even if you’re not - you may want to at some point):

If you still can’t get a natural match, Fix Match (at the show level - not season or episode level), go to TVDB and grab the TVDB ID #: 192171

and put it here:

Personally, I’d go for the total Do-Over and that’s The Plex Dance (with you fixing file names, folder structures AND moving Local Media Assets BEFORE you add the show back to the server):

That’s pretty much all there is to it.

(Note to Noah - as i KNOW you’ll read this, eventually:
FileBot would NOT find this show, insisting it was The Andromeda Strain. I hand edited the file name/structure I knew it had to be and it was found instantly. I’m gob-smacked…lol)

Hi,

The problem is that both thetvdb.com and themoviedb.org episodes are wrong. If you click here:

https://www.thetvdb.com/series/the-avengers-earths-mightiest-heroes/seasons/1 or
https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/33623-the-avengers-earth-s-mightiest-heroes/season/1?language=en-US

You’ll see that first few episodes of season 1 are:

Episode 1: Breakout (Part1)
Episode 2: Breakout (Part2)

But if you go to imdb.com:

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1626038/episodes?season=1&ref_=tt_eps_sn_1

Episode 1: Iron man is born
Episode 2: Thor the mighty

IMDB.com has the correct episodes listed.

So I want Plex to match with imdb.com and not thetvdb.com or themoviedb.org. But those two options are available in the Auto Match in Fix Match window.

And I tried use imdb’s code tt1626038 and it wouldn’t match because there isn’t an option for imdb in the drop down menu.

So what to do?

Try setting “Episode ordering” to “DVD order” in the Advanced settings for this series. Looking on TheTVDB forums it appears that there is a difference between the original airing order and DVD order. This needs to be set at the show level, not season.

You may or may not need to re-scan your library after making this change, I cannot remember.

Yep, if there is a DVD order at TVDB that might help, but if there isn’t a DVD order - ur gonna have to:

  1. bend to TVDB’s will - you have no hope of changing their mind

  2. use the Personal Media Shows agent and hand edit the whole show.

No truer words have been spoken. I’ve had to give up and bend to their will multiple times.

Hey changing it to “Episode ordering” worked! Thanks a lot guys! Really appreciate it!

That’s the function - what was the option that worked for ya?
Airing Order
DVD Order
Absolute Numbering

Glad it worked. That’s generally the first thing I try when ordering is an issue (Firefly comes to mind).

Firefly is actually the ONLY show in my Plexiverse using DVD Order. I have no desire to start hand editing every episode - and it’s date - so it’ll come up right in On Deck <— and that’s why most people bend, it’s just a PITA.

…also glad whatever was done did the trick…

I meant I changed it to DVD order and it worked.

Also, I don’t have any problems with Firefly. I have mine on Airing order and it’s fine.

But for it to work, I had to move the folders out of the main Media folder, rescan library files so that the show is out of plex then moved the avenger folder back in media/tv show, rescan again and it all episodes displayed correctly.

Firefly ‘Purists’ know the studio changed the intended airing order - 'cause they’re idiots. Whedon had the order right and that’s the DVD order - or at least it was made so for us ‘Purists’:

Serenity “the episode” is first. Serenity “the movie” is a Special, set to display On Deck at the end. As intended.

I just got Serenity recently. Serenity is first? I thought it was last. Isn’t it the conclusion of Firefly?
