I recently updated and now Plex is not loading on my Samsung TV

I cannot get the code to link to my Samsung tv. I keep getting stuck in a loop in browser. I am signed in, it makes me sign in again, and never gets to place to enter code. Help. 4 days and gobs of tries.

could we expect any solution for old Samsung smart TVs?

in my case (UE32M5550) and some other older models I can watch Plex only if select Direct Play and disable transcoding.
The most annoying is that i have to change settings every time (on each film)

It was working wel till today, i tried everything but still the same problem. Th tv is still new. QE50Q60AAUXXH

I recently spent hours on chat with Samsung support with this exact issue. Try turning off and unplugging your TV for a few minutes, changing your Samsung password on another device, then when it asks you to sign in add your account again with a new password. Worked for me.

I’ve just reinstalled Plex and am still having the playback issue (Unsupported media format, yes all the secure connection things are off) on Tizen 2017 5.35.2. Very annoying: worked fine four weeks ago and the same content (mostly 480p DVD rips, transcode to burn subtitles) won’t play.

On my own server i suddenly get transcoding failed, and on my friends server i get the media file not supported.

I updated a week or two ago and lost all connection to tv’s and the PC, I have plex on a server and usually I could access from the pc if not the TV but this time it is all gone, can’t access my server or something, it has been driving me crazy, my son who has had plex for years logged in through teamviewer and he was going through it for maybe 20 minutes and couldn’t sort it out.
I am buggered what to do from here, I am not the most plex literate person, somehow I managed to set it up but be buggered if I can sort this issue out.

I had 2 accounts. I deleted one. Kept the Plex pass account. It worked. Thanks

My Samsung TV (QE49Q6FNA) automatically updates Apps, and so my PLEX app has been updated I’m experiencing that I cannot play movies etc. from the server (which is not in the same location as I am). When I click play, black screen is showing. Watching live tv works fine and I can connect to Plex and play movies from all other items such as PC, Tablet and iphone.
I’ve done a TV Software Update and I have also:

  • Uninstall the Plex App
  • Pulled out the power cord from the TV, and leave it out for 5 min
  • Connect again, and then try to install
    Still having the same issue. Is there anything else I can try and are there any new updates on this from Plex?

Annoyingly, Plex is a default app on my TV and can’t be uninstalled. I tried using the developer mode but that workaround has been patched out of later models.

Hi, i have an NU7400 TV UHD 4K Flat and i tried all of the above suggesting. I still cannot stream from my PC server.

I will be happy to provide further details if needed.

I’m having the same issues with plex, I’ve tried the reinstall unplug method and it didnt work. My Samsung is:

Samsung Model: UN55MU8000

Plex App version: 5.37.1
Platform version: 3

I am having the same problem with my Samsung as of last night. The app loads, but when I start a program I get the round arrow for a few seconds and then all goes black. I have updated the server to the latest version. I cannot uninstall the Samsung app, but I have removed it and replaced it, logged in and out. Still the same results. The server is running on a windows desktop on the same network. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi guys, Im having the same issue on my samsung TV everything is upto date.I have also tried the network setting changes, seems like only some content from my plex is working and other not, for example If im playing a TV show it plays 1st few episodes then it gives me a playback error any help would be appreciated.
