Live TV - Bug list & feature requests for New Experience

@ozsmac
Got an additional feature request for your list:
Would love to see ratings from IMDB/Rotten Tomatoes to be listed for movies in the EPG guide.

That way, I’d be much easier to make decision on which movies to record. Or the ratings could be used as a filter to only show upcoming movies above a certain rating.

That is a great idea. Will add to OUR list

@Craig_Holliday any chance of some insight into if the issues we’ve been reporting for quite a bit now are under review or scheduled for resolution?

Can confirm in the new beta (2025.23.0) the blank EPG issue is fixed.

Also, long press lets you start a recording. I don’t remember that working before

9 posts were split to a new topic: EPG doesn’t load when jumping forward in time

you are very fast satisfied for something you are paying

I’m satisfied that the team is working the problem and making progress.

I’m not sure that getting back to where you were months ago can be described as progress. Repairing the damage, possibly.

I’ve marked this one as fixed, as I haven’t seen a reoccurrence, if you are still having this problem and are on 2025.22 or later, pls chime in and I’ll update.

With the latest version, most live tv bugs seem to have been fixed. One bug I’ve noticed still remains though. If a tv channel name has a & character in it, live tv streaming (or recording) fails. This happens on all platforms.

So it appears that the Plex team really don’t want to engage with the community at large, just specific individuals, where information is shared in more private groups.

My hope is this approach is reviewed and a more broad communication strategy can be put in place to help connect paying Plex users with support and answers.

I now realise that any efforts to try to collate issues clearly is wasted, as we can see with the total lack of Plex team engagement with this thread. Sadly this is pattern that many of us have seen over the years, that is disappointing given these forums are the only path for support and assistance.

Hoping I’m wrong, but given not a single comment from any Plex team member after quite a bit of work by many to try to be constructive and productive, it’s hard to draw and other conclusion. This isn’t the way to treat customers.

Or put more simply, I simply give up.

Thanks for your efforts though!

If nothing else, it reduces some of the worry as we know it’s not our fault, but rather with Plex management/development teams.

Emby does seem to work well alongside Plex - same media libraries, and servers run in parallel.

2025.24.0 - TV Guide data still not showing for future days

Agree, it is coming up when you go forward/backward at some point. Plus when having the app in German, the days selector shows the days in English.

I did find that with 2025.24.0 Android that if you “Jump To Day” and then click one of the < > it will refresh the screen and display the guide.

Still no PiP for live TV. Unbelievable.

@pl_5309 good discovery, I’m also seeing occasional success with OTA EPG data with future days if I choose a future day, then hit < or >, then wait up-to 15 seconds with a blank guide before it sometimes refreshes. I’d still call it as very broken.

Hoping we can see some further progress, 153+ days and counting.

Here in the UK we have to pay a tax (in the form of a tv licence) if we want to watch any live tv.

Plex now being so broken for so long, without any evidence of work towards fixing it I’ve chosen the only solution available to me - cancelled the tv licence and no longer watch any live tv.

It’s a solution, of sorts.

or BBCiPlayer (whether live or not).

“or BBCiPlayer (whether live or not).”

Yep, uninstalled.
