Here’s my PMS log file. The error replicated around 7:30 AM EST.
I’ve checked internally and this is likely an issue with PMS beta version you are on (1.24.5). A fix will be included in the upcoming beta.
I’d expect that if you downgrade to a stable version, this to be working properly 
when can we expect some sort of fix, this issue is disturbing at best.

@the1mick Did you by chance upgrade the plex server? The latest (1.24.5.5160) has a serious problem. LiveTV stopped with error after 5ish minutes and that’s not on the latest beta client version.
I had to downgrade back 1.24.4.5081 on the server and i’m currently sitting on public client version 8.22.0.27533 for my shield until the bugs get fixed.
I did try the 8.25.0.28578 beta, it did fix the live tv issue but it brought back an EPG not auto update issue that isn’t related to this thread.
I can confirm that with the 8.25.0.28578-beta client with PMS 1.24.4.5081 that it is fixed for me. Thank you!
A updated Plex server beta will be out Monday with a fix. Your best bet is to roll back your server one version.
But this issue where the playback on the client side at the 3-minute mark has been resolved with geosidi’s fix. Two separate issues.
Tested 2 way on fire 4k with beta mentioned and with PMS 1.24.4.5081
1, randomly select and watch channels Working as it used to (usual startup delay)
2, with a program currently recording, selecting that channel then select play from start. Always joins program Live!

i went to plex download page and downloaded latest PMS. disaster ensued. this issue is just so disturbing as it has been going on for several weeks now.
i presume the monday fix will be on the download page?
thanks, but this has really sucked. worst plex experience i’ve had and really leaves me wary of any future changes.

Installed the beta (8.25.0.28578) and have been running it for the past 3 hours and 45 minutes without an issue. Again my setup PMS (1.24.4.5081) on Linux, with Shield TV running the 28578 Beta app.
I have not tested anything else, but steaming OTA Live TV is working.

tested a few other items, recording OTA content, playback of recorded program, play existing shows and movies, watch LiveTV (PLEX) & Plex Movies, Live (OTA) TV Schedule and so far the 28578 Beta app seems to be working well.

I downgraded to stable version and my issue (same as original poster) did NOT go away.
No rewind/pause/ff capability in live tv on Android TV client, crashes every 3 minutes, and running PMS on Synology DSM 7 Version 1.24.5.5160
im on 1.24.4 on a fresh install from the download from your main plex download page and still have the same problem.
this is the error that im having for more than a month that lead me to this post when i google the error
ERROR - [Transcode] MDE: No part decision to choose from
it buffers every now and then until the stream finally gets killed after 10 minutes.
that is on the newest plex server update on windows 10 and newest plex for android client on my beelink gt-king.
if i downgrade my plex for android client to 7.31 and set allow insecure connections to “always” and enable the old player, the live tv streams last for 2 hours and 30 minutes before they get killed but theres no buffering.
i started this thread for the same issue on plex server for windows 10 but no one will reply on my thread

what os will the update be for? linux? or windows? im experiencing the issue on windows 10 plex server using plex for android clients on my beelink gt-king android box with android 9.

i downloaded the available PMS posted today (1.24.5.5173) but still the same old problem, wheel of death after watching for maybe 15 min. at least the every 5 minute problem is gone but this is getting silly.
any outlook on a fix?
