Thanks for the heads up on this, I’m going to check and see if this is getting artificially limited somewhere.
For me, it was simple: when I deleted the DVR, it didn’t delete my scheduled recordings. But when I created the new DVR, my scheduled recordings said that there were no upcoming shows–which was wrong, of course. I had three shows set up for this evening.
So when the old scheduled recordings say there’s nothing to record, but the new guide shows that there’s something to record, you have the new guide data.
Why Plex doesn’t just go ahead and blow away the old and now utterly useless scheduled recordings, I’ll never know.
Interesting, mine started recording again like nothing has changed. Already recorded a bunch of shows since removing the DVR early this morning.
Just to add to the “The ‘HD Channels Only’ filter is still showing some channels which are not HD:” issue
In the FK5 area I also have channel 9 - BBC Scotland being shown as HD
In the London area, BBC1 HD isn’t showing as an HD channel.
It is strange why the don’t remove the existing scheduled recordings. The only reason I can think they don’t, is there may be other reasons why you have decided to delete and re-add the DVR, and it would be a real pain to then have to recreate your schedules. Maybe they should have an option when you delete the DVR to say “Do you also want to delete scheduled recordings”?
It was a right pain deleting my existing scheduled recordings as I had hundreds. It is also annoying that it seems to also keep films in the list even though they are only one off recordings.
For background, it appears the schedules are tied not only to the show names which needs to be identical in name and format, but also it relies on the channel names. As the Gracenote guide has channels with different formats and spelling e.g. BBC1LHD (BBC 1) which was different on the TiVo guide it wont honour the schedule.
The easiest thing is to go through and re-add all your scheduled recordings… Although as others have mentioned you can only schedule recordings for programmes in the current guide, so you will have to wait for your favourite series to be on again to series link them!
Well, my context for all of this was Windows Media Center. When I blew away the Tivo-based guide and moved over to the Schedules Direct stuff, it took only a few moments and all of my scheduled recordings remained intact.
Is there any way to customize the channel icons? Light grey on dark grey is really hard to see:)
Country: UK
Post code: OX25
Channel: 030 4Music
Plex EPG only recorded the last of 4 episodes of “The Good Place” that aired between 00:00 and 02:30 this morning. No errors for the missing episodes - it’s as if Plex did not see them at all
[edit]
Just found out that the last episode was also a dud. I put a 10 minute buffer on each end of a recording so it should have been 50 minutes and it was only 30 minutes (it only caught the last 10 minutes of the show and 20 minutes of something else).
@captain_caveman2k you reported this being messed up last week as well - did you have any problem this morning?
This is wonderful news! Thank you Plex Dev’s.
Question, is there a way to print or export the current scheduled recordings or is there an xml file somewhere to save so that it makes it easier to recreate the recordings with the new EPG?
I can’t find a way using the browser to list and save as a PDF of my current recording schedule under ‘recording priority’.
Screenshot would be the easiest
That’s a lot of screen shots
They recorded here. The episode numbers were still off by one for the UK and the first 5 minutes of episode 13 were on the end of episode 12.
I see the Freeview guide listed episode 13 as 02:00 to 02:20 but Plex and Gracenote listed it being 10 minutes longer between 02:00 to 02:30.
However, it looks like it actually started a few minutes early - There probably isn’t enough advertising at that time of morning.
huh, OK.
It’s not showing in my EPG at all for today - perhaps because I am in a different Post Code to you?
Hi @paul_paulpoteet_com we’re working to resolve this on our end. But separately, as a feature, custom channel logos (like custom posters) would be cool.
I’m using the Hauppauge WinTV-dual HD and I can’t get any hd channels to show up on the listings. I’m in England for the matter. Does anyone else also have the same issue.
great improvement for me here in germany. thank you for this update!
can we get a seperate section for radio stations comming also from cable?
it would make it so much better if we could edit the channel number to sort and give it a custom picture.
(unreadable on 4k 27")
i think its a must!
Hmm.
A lot of “unknown airings” I am seeing. Examples: Tuesday 22nd BBC1 Scotland HD - Should be the Spider-Man: Homecoming movie at 19:55. Also, same day, C4 HD 22:00, should be Celebrity Gogglebox
Setup the guide with the default “local broadcast listings” - in the west of Scotland with Freeview (HDHOMERUN) - is this the correct one for me?
I’ll also mention the erroneous channels listed as HD when they are not - channels 9, 50, 56, 64 and 261.
I’m also curious, why does it take so long to update the guide? I use the Windows version of Digiguide and it manages to update the information in a matter of SECONDS - and there seems to be a lot more programme info on Digiguide than on this new version of the Plex guide.
Example: Worzel Gummidge - Tues 22nd 17:00 BBC1 Scotland HD
Plex:
S1·E2—The Green Man

The Green Man. Series 1, episode 2.

What will his most competitive rival, Soggy Bogart, make of it all? Mackenzie Crook and Michael Palin star.

Disappointed thus far I have to say.
Just went through the delete/add process and I was stuck at the postal code section for a while. I eventually figured out via searching the forum that capitalization matters. I strongly recommend that you normalize the postal code input so that users don’t get stuck here. Not alot of feedback in the UI letting you know what’s going on, just a grayed-out continue button. Here in Canada, while all-caps is technically accurate for postal code pretty much all forms I’ve ever filled in accept lower-case.
It has now been more than 2 weeks since I reported a missing channel. How do I get an ETA for the channel to be added? This channel (Comcast Chester NH 931/WBZ3/DABL) has been available for more than a year. The old guide added it 48 hours after my report. When will Plex/Gracenote add it again? Why is there no status?
