Live TV EPG - The update you’ve been waiting for

OTA channels in Germantown MD 20874 missing several channels:
10.1 WDCO
48.6 DABL
48.12 EMLW
68.2 DEFY

Plex media server version 1.41.3.9314 (up to date)

  1. Phoenix / Arizona - Channel 12.1 - NBC - Missing guide data. Keeps saying “To Be Announced”. For today - Next day and so forth. This is not a problem with source guide, as I can go to other sources, for example ontvtonight.com and the data appears there perfectly. See all screenshots.
  2. Channel number is 12.1 and name is KPNX-HD (NBC)
  3. EPG guide data is saying “to be announced” for even programs airing right now.
  4. United States
  5. 85258
  6. Phoenix / Arizona
  7. Latest PMS - (as of writing this) - 1.41.3.9314

NOTES: Yes (1) I have deleted and redone the EPG, Tuner, Completely reinstalled PMS (2) Yes I have done manual EPG refreshes. (3) My assumption is that PMS is getting from zap2it or same source as zap2it, as that source is missing this data. (4) OH and yes I’ve tried alternate sources too.

Request: Please fix and address and go directly to the real source. See fourth screenshot for example. I need to be able to watch and record SNL, which comes on 12.1 - NBC.

Keeps saying “to be announced”

Even for other days

Source is OTA for 85258

Example you can see, EPG data is available:

Thank you.
PS: I followed the article: reporting-plex-dvr-lineup-inaccuracies

Installed HDHomeRun FLEX 4K several weeks ago. The guide is not even close with one channel. I’ve update the guide over a dozen times. The HDHomeRun app is listing the correct programming but Plex guide is completely inaccurate.

There seems to be missing guide data for all the late night talk shows for this week: late show, tonight show, late night with Seth Meyers, jimmy kimmel
I ran a manual refresh on the guide data

one example is ‘The Late Show With Stephen Colbert’, it should be on at 11:35PM EST

Same as @kbrun58 above. The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and After Midnight have new episodes this week on CBS, but they’re just “To Be Announced” last night and tonight in my listings. Manual refresh didn’t fix it.

Does this thread get monitored? Seems to be a lot of reports but few responses.

There’s a lot of ‘To Be Announced’ in the EPG for next week, particularly Tuesday and Friday for BBC1 and ITV1 in the UK.

EDIT: Rewind TV has a lot too, and BBC2 nearly all day every day next week.

It seems to be a problem with Network10,
9 & 7 seem OK

Location: UK
Postcode: WV3
TV Type: Freeview OTA

Same problem for me - checked yesterday and noticed this - refreshed guide data and did not resolve the issue. Checked again today and still the same problem. The range of TV channels I notice this for are as follows (there are probably more):

  • BBC1
  • BBC2
  • BBC3
  • BBC4
  • ITV 1
  • ITV 2
  • ITV 3
  • ITV 4
  • ITV Be
  • 4 HD
  • 4 7
  • E4
  • 5 HD
  • 5 USA
  • Great Romance
  • Sky Arts
  • 5 Select
  • U&Dave
  • U&Drama
  • Rewind TV

The problem becomes more noticable the more you scroll through the guide data. For example, I see this when I scroll through to the coming Friday:

There does seem to be quite a few US people posting with a similar issue, so seems to be either quite a big issue with plex or the data from the guide provider?

Hopefully it can get resolved soon!

I have the same issue

Same for me on Friday. Tuesday is OK though.

Just to add… same issue. UK freeview.

I now have zero scheduled recordings as nothing is being found in the EPG.

I’m in San Angelo Texas, zip code 76904. Over the air channel 6 (KIDY-DT) has several sub-channels not shown in the Plex guide ( EPG Location Local Broadcast Listings (19 channels)).

6.4 Quest, 6.5 Court TV, 6.6 Ion Plus, and 6.7 Crime are found by my HdHomeRun TV tuner, but not in the guide.
In the screen shot I’ve mapped them to other channels (not the right ones) just to get them visible in Plex.

Plex Version 1.40.0.7998 running on a Synology NAS.

Thank you,

Is Plex using EPG data directly from Gracenote, or indirectly via TV Guide or Zap2It?

For months, I have been missing several stations on my lineup on Live TV/DVR via HD HomeRun Flex 4K. I just did a quick check - the stations do appear on TV Guide’s web page, but the lineup that really matches in on Zap2It (with the missing stations still missing).

(I reported this in this forum some time ago - around the time MeTV Toons went live.)

Wish there was a way for me to just point my program guide update to a different source than the one currently used by Plex…

(I just submitted an update request directly to Zap2It and hope that it will be seen)

Yes we get directly from Gracenote.
