Thanks. I wasn’t using caps. Should have thought about that. Hopefully they fix that for the future when i forget
getting a strange quirk on the new EPG and I think it is related to why some people are getting SD recordings instead of HD recordings
When I look at my guide for HD channels only it shows some programs as unknown
But when I view the same channel and same time using the All Channels, The program shows up.
But when I look at the recording it thinks it is a SD program
And if i do not manually fix it I am having the program recorded in SD ( I have had to manually select the channel to BBC1HD
LMAO, the Plex apologists on here are ridiculous.
Nobody is asking for perfection, only a USABLE product, that I have paid for.
After all this time, it is VERY far from it. The code as well is far from bug free as I have already highlighted on various threads.
edit: seems I have offended someone with my home truths.
Garnered some likes though, so I wonder if free speech will win out?
I have about 60-70 shows, removing each one is 4 clicks at least.
Not to mention all the shows that are on Hiatus right now I can’t add because they aren’t on the schedule.
I understand the switch needed to be made, but this wasn’t the way to go about it. But then again, Plex has a history of ripping the bandaid off for its users without checking to see if it was actually healed underneath for a while now.
Yes, I can see that this would be a pain but, again, at least it is a 1-off.
If you were referring to the “old” EPG, it was appalling (so defiantly not healed).
Hi there ,
I have no guide with Canada listing in Ottawa . I did a new refresh of plex and i still have nothing when i enter the postal code. US postal codes works but nothing in Canada.
Am i doing it worng. I’ve been streaming for the PVR for over 2 years. On console :
Error parsing XML: Error parsing file.
Anyclue?
Thanks!
Thanks!
With 1 day left in the month / year is there any update?
Well, this new EPG guide is far too bad… Most Movistar channels are now missing and History Channel (precisely the one I see the most) is also missing, there is a “Sky History” but the guide doesn’t match what is being aired.
It’s quite annoying, because I’ve lost all my record schedules for “forged in fire: against judges” that I need to record because I cannot see them live.
Besides the guide now is just in english, when before was in perfect spanish…
How can we get a good working guide for Spain? This one s*cks!
Ok then i’m assuming that the epg does have glitches … and i guess i’ll to wait for it then
Well, tomorrow old EPG guide will stop working, so…
2 hours to redo my guide on my birthday, very happy! Still the same channels unavailable as was previously. Channel still won’t play in Spanish even though I pay for the Spanish Channel option. This is due to most of the channels coming up as a duplicate Channel when they’re not, one is an English and one is a Spanish channel. Still no favorite channels option and now it’s looking less likely since you guys don’t manage the guide anymore:(. Go Plex!
Emby has amazing features for live TV as a client user and on the server side. Let’s make Plex Live TV innovation great in 2021!

since you guys don’t manage the guide anymore:(
I’m not sure Plex ever managed the guide.
First, the data came from Gracenote. Last year it swapped over to TiVo and now it is swapping back to Gracenote (again).
Interesting that’s good to know. I thought that was the whole point of switching over the year before, was so they had more control over the guide . Tu!

.
I believe it is a little different from previously as they stated a while ago that it wasn’t just a case of re-enabing the old code.
I think prior to the Tivo changeover all of our clients downloaded the data directly from Gracenote, where as Plex themselves now act as a proxy and download that data, store it, and disseminate it.
This allows them to inject other data into the mix as well.
However, the Powered by Plex that was at the bottom of the guide has now changed back to Powered by Gracenote.
US Here and just a little late to the party. Pretty good so far. I had to delete all the shows in the queue and start again. A tool to dump those out (of I am assuming a sqlite3 database?) would have been helpful.
On the plus side when I go to Prime time now it goes to 8 PM and not 5!.
I’ve got a TV show in the EPG showing Season 2020 and Season 2021 when they use to have the actual seasons and episodes attached. The recordings for the last couple of weeks have been piling up and at first I thought it was no biggie but now I’m regretting not saying anything. How am I to know which season or episode my recordings are on if they’re not marked in the XML info nor given that info on the file name because the EPG data isn’t correct? The channel its on is playing the episodes by season and in sequence, but if I continue to let them record like this, I may wind up with several duplicates later on of the same episode. I’d like to clear this up before it gets worse. I’ve already cleared out my original DVR setup, deleted my old show recording queue and re-added them after the new DVR setup was done.

Yes, this is a right pain in the proverbial.
The way I do it is to correlate the aired episode with a different EPG and then manually rename the episode file accordingly.
For example, I’m in the Uk, so I use the Freeview EPG on their website.
I can’t seem to schedule recording of new Saturday Night Live episodes. If I record repeat & new, it only schedules the earlier episode (the repeat). If I record only new episodes, it says no upcoming airings.
Not poking fun but your post is totally useless without detail.
Where your located? What hardware? Screenshots?

I would have thought the best way to approach issues is to use the form and then add a post here. It would be helpful also if other posters didn’t feel the need to admonish those reporting issues; this is what this thread is for.
