Missing ATSC 3.0 channels in EPG for Salt Lake City: NextGen TV Comes to Salt Lake City - ATSC : NextGen TV

Enable the channels (check the box to the left of the virtual channel number) and then select the guide data:
102.1 => 2.1 (KUTV)
104.1 => 4.1 (KTVX)
114.1 => 14.1 (KJZZ)
130.1 => 30.1 (KUCW)
You’ll have to disable the ATSC 1.0 channels as you can’t have the same guide data mapped to more than one channel.
That’s a fair workaround, but shouldn’t be the final solution by any means.
That is a long list - let me know which issues remain
and please separate readability / colour issues from actual errors
This was corrected in yesterday’s EPG data
I did that in the EPG Google Form that I submitted back in June but the issues still remain - is anyone looking at those reports?
Anyway, here is the list:
Incorrect logos
No logo
I know we’ve previously spoken about the logos for the dating channels but I think the incorrect channel name for Kiss Chat & Date should be corrected at the very least ![]()
Out of date logos
Hard to read logos
Other hard to read channel logos have already been corrected, thank you, but these are still a problem:
Incorrect style
Compared to a) what Freeview display in their guide and b) the channel’s own on screen logos and websites, the following channels have different styles in Plex:
@sa2000 Seeing some “Unknown Airings” on Channel 81 - Talking Pictures TV on Saturday 16th October - UK Freeview. New EPG provider has been working fine up to now. Any chance of a refresh?
Also Monday the 18th at 04:50am, a film lasting 12hrs…
Young Sheldon Season 4 will be airing in the UK on E4 (Channel 013) from Wednesday the 20th October…
…but unfortunately Plex is missing the New tags.
I thought this might be related to the previously mentioned Channel 4 issues however the Freeview guide is correctly identifying the episodes as New:
Plex:

Freeview:

This effects all current airings in Plex:
20/10 at 21:00 - S4 E1
20/10 at 21:30 - S4 E2
27/10 at 21:00 - S4 E3
27/10 at 21:30 - S4 E4
There is still problem in the Finnish channels:
All channels are showing “Julkaistaan pian” (eng. Coming soon). This has been at least for the past year. Cannot record anything on these channels.
Please fix.
probably was a temporary data issue that resolved itself

Have I Got a Bit More News For You - BBC Scotland HD (Ch101) - 2021-10-20 at 01.10 (ie overnight tonight) - no ‘New’ tag, even though it’s the first airing, so not currently due to be recorded.
There have been a few BBC One HD recordings not being picked up because they’re missing ‘new’ tags, so I have tried to set programmes to ‘New and Repeat’ and restrict to a specific channel. Weirdly, in this case, HIGNFY only offers BBC2 as a potential channel, despite the fact that it doesn’t air on BBC2, only BBC One and Dave/Dave ja vu.
Please let me know of other examples if we are starting to get missing “New” indicator. The trouble with these is that it is unlikely to get them fixed in time before the airing and could be one off errors - but if we are starting to get these regularly then I will flag it to Gracenote
I suspect that this was because the BBC Schedule was / is wrong.
Checking the official BBC channel schedule here BBC One Scotland HD - Schedules, Tuesday 19 October 2021
This screenshot shows it is the BBC 1 Scotland schedule
and this screenshot shows that they flagged S62 E2 as a repeat
and the same for next airing
I have referred this to Gracenote as it is still wrong.
Thanks for getting back to me, but I think I worded my issue badly, as it was really two issues which I conflated.
Issue 1: the new tags. Some of the tag issues arise because BBC England screens a show twice, while BBC Scotland only shows the repeat airing, choosing to show Scotland-only content during the first UK airing slot. That’s a Gracenote and/or BBC issue with not picking up on that subtlety and I appreciate your escalating it to them.
Issue 2: Why does Plex only show BBC2 Scot in ‘Restrict to channel’ drop-down, when there are recordings set up in my Plex DVR queue for both BBC One and Dave, and the show never appears in the BBC Two Scot schedules?
Is this a bug I should report via another route?
I am not escalating this to Gracenote since the schedule for BBC Scotland which I captured the screenshot for showed the item as a repeat. Gracenote use what data the BBC gives them. So it appears here that it is a BBC issue which is not something I can escalate
I need you to give me specific examples of future airings that are not showing up for all channels. I am only aware of a problem we have with “Limit to Airing Time” where we do not pick all possible airings when changing the filter from “This Episode” to “All Episodes”
Several shows - not just HIGNFY - wouldn’t let me choose either an airing time or channel, whether set to ‘New Eps only’ or ‘New and Repeat’. It looked like they were tied to whatever time / channel the first ever recording in the series had been set up for.
I have now done the obvious thing I should have tried first of deleting the scheduled recordings, deleting the DVR and and then adding it all back in again, which seems to have fixed it. Don’t know what got corrupted or how.
Many thanks - I note from today’s data refresh that episodes 3 and 4 (on the 27th) and episodes 5 and 6 (on the 3rd) now have their New tags ![]()
Thanks for the extra detail. Do you recall if this show’s original recordings were limited to a specific channel when made ?
When selecting to record, are you switching from “This Episode” to “All Episodes” ?
There are two ways to schedule recordings,
click on the show / series title in the DVR Live TV Grid and then click “Record” - this will be preset to “All Episodes” and the “Limit to Channel” should give all possible channels
click on the actual airing episode in the grid and click record. Then change “This Episode” to “All Episodes” in the drop-down and go to Advanced settings to use “Limit to Channel”
For the second scenario we have an issue whereby we do not regenerate the list of channels after switching from “This Episode” to “All Episodes”
I need to establish if your issue is this problem or another bug
I never use the Plex EPG grid to select shows to record. I’m old school and still use a Sunday newspaper to scan the week ahead, then I use the search function in Plex iOS, pick the first episode I want to record, and go from there.
I tend to set recordings as all + new as default without limiting the channel, but it’s possible that there was a skipped recording at some point due to a missing ‘new’ tag, and I’ve scheduled a one-off recording of a specific numbered episode on a specific channel and that’s introduced the bug.
It’s hard to replicate because removing the EPG and all the scheduled recordings, then rebuilding both with all recordings again set to all + new has fixed the problem. The drop-down now shows the correct channels (BBC One Scot, Dave, Dave Ja Vu) for HIGNFY. I wouldn’t be confident in stating that it’s a different bug, when it sounds very much like what you’re describing.
Now that I know that bug exists, I’ll just plan my recordings appropriately, as I have more than enough server space to over-record and delete unwanted eps.
