Live TV EPG - The update you’ve been waiting for

I’m having the same issue with France EPG for channel W9 for the show “Les Marseillais vs le reste du monde” and noticed in the Guide that it never shows the New tag, even though they are new episodes.

@sa2000 can we get a fix for this?

Hello
Since my provider apparently has too little acceptance from Graceland to be included in the channel list, I wanted to ask how far the manual channel sorting has progressed? It is really tedious to assign the settings for each transmitter by hand.
Please also think again whether the provider will not be resumed after all, I bought the Plex Premium account, among other things, for the DVR feature alone and now this function has only been an enormous effort for more than a year to be used if the provider has made a channel update. My displeasure is growing steadily in this regard

Thanks

You can manually set the EPG using XMLTV instead. Always have been…

Do you know if Gracenote and Channel 4 were able to get anywhere with this as shows are still showing up as SD on the HD channel? For example:

Saturday 13th (Tomorrow) - 21:00: Angel Has Fallen

@captain_caveman2k Plex did fix the issue of the shows showing as SD instead of HD on Channel 4HD, but it seems it’s broken again.

I don’t think so

The statement I got back was

After discussing with the station, they indicated that they have some technical limitations that prevent them from providing us with HD qualifiers in the schedules with the consistency we need.

I do have an open feature request at our end to introduce a preference to assume all airings being HD for an HD channel

That’s a bit of a downer but thank you for raising it.

Lets hope this is actioned - this along with HD shows not being recorded because SD recordings already exist even though the “Replace lower resolution items” setting is set are two of my biggest bugbears with the DVR feature.

@sa2000 UK Freeview channel 091 - Thats TV Gold has gaps in its schedules for tomorrow onwards.
It has just been renamed That’s TV Christmas too.

Taskmaster was recorded in SD tonight as well as bake off for the two previous weeks.

I do have an open feature request at our end to introduce a preference to assume all airings being HD for an HD channel

I really hope it does, it’s so frustrating. Why would I want to watch anything recent at 480p in 2021? Christ.

Can I just delete the SD channels? Would that fix it?

Could you do a Guide Refresh and see if that resolves the issue

I cannot see any gaps in the schedule for this channel. What Plex Client are you seeing them on ? and what times/dates ?

I tried a number of refreshes until midnight. The channel has now been updated with the correct listings. I think they are quite “last minute” releasing their schedules and the “That’s Entertainment” programmes that were listed before were probably place holders.

@sa2000 the guide data for uk free view is wrong again. The guide is showing “That’s entertainment” but it’s been updated on other guides. Ie Sky

Where do I have to complain about the missing channel data? I haven’t seen any improvements on this. Still four channels without proper data.

Finnish TV still has problems with few channels.
They are showing only “Julkaistaan pian” (“To be announced”).

Channels are: Nelonen(HD) (#004), Liv (#008), Jim (#009) and Hero (#014).

It’s been issue for long time now.

I had previously posted here and here to try to have this issued addressed, but no progress has been made in the 12 months since I first identified this issue.

Greetings. On Monday of this week, some of the episodes of The Daily Show with Trevor Noah airing at 11:00 PM EST on channels 190/690 this week had the incorrect episode length: 30 minutes. As I had to do previously, I manually restarted the Plex Media Server service manually, and after the restarting the server, the Guide for all the episodes for the week had been corrected to have the correct episode length: 45 minutes. All of the episodes of The Daily Show with Trevor Noah airing at 11:00 PM EST next week have the incorrect episode length again: 30 minutes. In order to correct this, I will need to restart the Plex Media Server service manually again next Monday.

The earliest “That’s entertainment” schedule airings in the EPG start from Saturday 4th December

This appears to be the same as what is showing on the freeview schedule here TV Guide | Freeview

Looks like some late availability of schedule data from the station

Thank you. I am referring this to the Plex Media Server development team - on this topic
Guide does not show correct episode length until PMS service is manually restarted - Live TV & DVR - Plex Forum

Appears to arise when EPG schedule data is wrong initially - but the scheduled airings should have got corrected when the Guide refreshed overnight as part of scheduled tasks

I had exactly the same issue as you with Channel 4HD and sometimes ITV 1HD.

I’ve removed the SD and +1 versions of all HD channels in the channel/epg mapping menu. Once I did that, I refreshed the EPG and plex recorded the HD channels correctly. So that is a work around.

Finger crossed they implement your very sensible idea soon. It’s total overkill looking for this on a program basis, when all programs on HD channels are HD and all programs on SD channels are SD.

I’ve been having issues lately with the series Castle on Great TV (Freeview channel 49).

This is broadcast daily Monday to Friday 3PM to 4PM, with the week’s episodes also repeated on Saturday between 1PM and 6PM.

Sometimes the weekday episodes won’t show in the schedule and it will record the Saturday repeat instead. Checking the guide, that day’s episode shows as “unknown airing”.

Sometimes a manual refreshes of the guide will fix it, but sometimes the “unknown airing” will stick and I need to wait until Saturday for it to record that episode.

This has happened for the episodes on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday this week - here is how Friday’s episode is currently showing:

That should be S5·E19—The Lives of Others, and other TV guides such as the Freeview guide are showing it correctly.
