Live TV EPG - The update you’ve been waiting for

Plex SHOULD integrate a channel order manager for Live TV. Or at least a way to download their EPG guide like SchedulesDirect does with guide2go, fire it up on xTeVe to keep a proper channel order.
It’s frustrating that they offer EPG (very good service I can’t deny it) but you can’t use it because it’ll mess your preferred channel order (or maybe there’s a way around it that I’m not aware of)

Oh you know, this is really too stupid for me!
What do you think I’m doing the last few days? Picking my nose? Google I can very well bediehnen and if I had found an answer, I would not report in this forum.
Unfortunately, some are very stingy with their knowledge and give answers like “use Google” that now seems to me like in kindergarten “I know the answer, but I do not tell you”.
I can really do without such a thing!
In short: I’m trying for days to find a way how I can generate an xmltv file from the VU+ via my m3u file.
If someone has found a way I would be happy if he would share his knowledge with me. I do not ask for a howto but a link would be helpful.

Thanks

If you or plex can tell me where I can get the XML file from I would be happy.

Dude, I already told you how. Google m3u4u and sign up for their site. It’s free. It does what you want. That is where you get it. Do you need your hand held with step by step instructions or can you google the site and follow the directions they post there?

Stop being rude.

Hello

Now you see what communication in complete sentences can do, if the hint had come directly “look at m3u4u, they offer exactly what you are looking for” I wouldn’t have blown up like that.
Don’t get me wrong, but I’m already at the age where people still spoke in complete sentences.
Nevertheless, thanks for the tip! Unfortunately, the provider is not available today (server problems), so I googled for an alternative and came across xeev. Unfortunately, it’s not a free service, but it’s easy to use.
When I finally finished and married my playlist with Xteve on the server, the next evil came. Error message from Plex when configuring LiveTV & DVR: “An unexpected error has occurred. Try again later or visit the forum”.
I hope it is only temporary and not due to my setup.
I’ll wait and see.

But thanks already

PS: I didn’t mean to be rude, I was just annoyed.

I’m having this same issue. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you - I also see that Channel 5 HD is showing some items as SD as well. For example:

Channel 105: Splash - Saturday 8/1 at 13:05

Canada, G7H 1M9,
4.1 CFRS-DT : NOOVO
6.1 CJPM-HD : TVA
8.1 CIVV-DT : Independent
12.1 CKTV-DT : Société Radio-Canada

This week I have ‘unknown airing’ for 12.1 CKTV-DT between 19h and 22h Yesterday, tonight (Tuesday), Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. This is quite something, no? Now, if I manually refresh, why the program guide doesn’t update? I mean, the getchannels app on my Apple TV uses Gracenote and everything is there…

Also, I notice the program guide scheduled task is missing on my server settings.

It was moved to the DVR settings.

Oh sorry, thanks. The screen capture in support article is not up to date then.

I have just tried “Ireland” with “D01” and I did get lineups returned

Is the problem still there?

(I have in the past come across an ISP that was blocking some of our requests - I think it was three mobile)

Best is to get debug server logs for when this happens and I will see how the requests are failing. See the linked server logs article

Thanks for flagging this

There is a problem with the Gracenote schedules data in that when we are getting the schedules - some of the airings details are not available at the time they show in the schedules. This leads to the gaps. The details become available days later and we do not currently have a mechanism to update the previously ingested schedules - if there are no updates to the actual schedules by Gracenote

I am discussing this with our ingestion team

could you duplicate the information here as well - please

need country/zip code / lineup name as well

Hello
I am going to ask again and for the last time (next I just cancel my subscription to Plex)

Is possible please to update the providers for Portugal channels. All of them are missing epg for lots of channels.

Thank you again

I see that you did ask before.

We are currently making improvements to EPG data ingestion for the set of Gracenote data that covers Portugal. This wiill get released once development and testing is completed.

There are gaps currently on some channels in the EPG grid where data is not available for some channels - eg as can be seen here

Please let me know post code and provider name / line up names in the drop-down that are relevant to you and will look into it when the improvements to to our ingestion are completed. We may need to refer some of the issues to Gracenote - but that needs to be very specific and checked out that it is not an issue at our end

Hi
Thank you for looking into this.
Well , post code is not relevant because in Portugal the epg providers covers all country. Listings are the same everywhere. Anyway I am at post code 1000 (Lisbon) .
About the provider i tried with the 3 most relevant (MEO , NOS and Vodafone) and all of them have channels with missing EPG.
For me personally I think that the best one will be Vodafone, but anyone that has the most complete epg with descriptions , genres and images is ok
Thank you very much
PS:
All providers have missing epg (or at least for some of them) for the premium channels of movies and sports , like all the sport tv channels, tvcine channels, eleven sports channels, and also some of the generic channels, like fox channels ( fox, fox movies, fox life, fox crime) , axn channels (axn movies, axn, axn white) and a lot more.

STV Central Scotland OTA
Channel 4 SD and HD (004 / 104)
8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown S22E03 on Fri 21 Jan 22 at 2100 not flagged as new

(TYVM in advance)

On 26th January, 60 Freeview channels will be changing their channel numbers to make way for the relaunch of BBC 3.

Is this something which is already in hand, and will we just need to rescan the channels or are we going to have issues where the channel numbers don’t match in the EPG?
