I have asked several times about missing Freeview channel 720 in the Nottingham area. It is the local BBC station and allows me to listen to the football when away from home

Its the same here - I cannot see my local stations in the EPG.

It seems that I can receive the following on my antenna:

• 719 - BBC Coventry and Warwickshire (10 miles away)
• 720 - BBC Hereford and Worcester (59 miles away)
• 721 - BBC West Midlands (51 miles away)
• 735 - BBC Derby (47 miles away)

Ironically I am originally from Nottingham though I live in the Warwickshire countryside these days between Rugby and Coventry and cannot see any of the above in the EPG, any of which would be better then Channel 726 - BBC Stoke which is the one that is listed - as that is the furthest away at 75 mile

The switchover from Tivo to Gracenote fixed a lot of EPG issues - most of which related to TV Shows and episode identification and metadata - but unfortunately we lost some elements - and as you have discovered - there is no support for local radio stations in the Gracenote EPG data

I do not know if they have any plans to bring this in

I have now raised generic quality issue cases with Gracenote for each of:
MEO
NOS
Vodafone

I have not specified any specific channels but a general issue with schedules missing for lots of channels

Bizarre that Gracenote feel they can ‘randomly’ include BBC Stoke for everyone when Local Radio is out of scope.

As someone who loves consistency I find it tad weird that this one is included but others are not.

As a software engineer I can’t find any logic as to why Channel 726 is included over 719, 720, 721, 722, 734 or 735 - it isn’t the first, it isn’t the last and whilst it only has two possible stations assigned to it so does 735. I guess it is the lowest station number with the fewest possible stations.

If I had to choose one I would have gone for either 719 (as the first) or 721 (as that channel is the one that has BBC London on it)

But does not record every day.

What to do ?

And why can’t I just schedule this channel to record every day at the same time, just like I did with my old VHS VCR

It appears that Gracenote do have local radio stations now and they have now added what they have identified as the local channels - please go through the channel matching screen in DVR settings and see what is now available

Please could you capture debug server logs soon after the time the recording is expected to start and also a few minutes after the of the program

also let me know country, zip code. and lineup used for DVR setup and the channel number and name - please the time of the expected recording

PORTUGAL EPG LIneups

We have a response from Gracenote concerning the EPG lineups and channels in Portugal. There are 54 active channels that should be available - 34 different actual channels with 20 HD variants. I have produced the following lists for lineups:

showing the channel numbers and titles that Gracenote have indicate are active and should be maintained

How long does it usually take Gracenote to sort out missing channels? Coming up to 3 weeks now and I still can’t see them.

It varies - sometimes changes come through within a couple of weeks and sometime they do not.

In this case they responded sometime back to say they added the channels but the channels are not showing in the data we get from Gracenote. I did refer it back to Gracenote and still awaiting a response

not defending Plex as there are still issues with channels/guides clearly but considering there are no real standards for TV guides, not to mention xml, ota and various digital tv technologies around the world, imho they are doing reasonably well to deliver epg solution on an international scale.

Thank you for letting me know, yes I can see that channel in the DVR mapping settings now and can watch the channel.

It looks like it is missing an icon and marked as HD in my region though.

Yep - the same here as well:

• Incorrectly given the HD tag when it is a Standard Definition channel (playing 576p here)
• Incorrectly been named Talk TV HD when it should just be Talk TV
• No icon

Freeview also doesn’t list it as a HD channel.

All channels except 590 & 665 which are missing from EPG; the rest are listed in EPG but when you set the channel it will not save.
For example 119, if i enable and click the channel 119 on the right, when you click save, it doesnt do anything. The save button spins for a second but doesnt actually save anything.

If I delete the DVR and reset it up and try to enable those channels during setup, I will get an error says there was a problem trying to save.
