Live TV EPG - The update you’ve been waiting for

The icon for FOX in New York City (WNYW) is missing. I’ve tried refreshing the data multiple times.

From the Guide screen:

From the Channel Lineup screen:

The EPG data is correct:

Please add the following channels for Salt Lake City, UT, USA market:
ZIP: 84117
Connection: OTA
Channels: 8.1 (KCSG), 8.2 (Decades), 8.3 (startTV), 8.4 (Heroes), 8.5 (MeTV), 8.6, (Story), 8.7 (Movies)

The following channels are mismatched / unlisted for OTA Local Broadcast Listings United States, Detroit Region (48383) -

102.1 WJBK
104.1 WDIV
107.1 WXYZ
120.1 WMYD-HD
120.99 WMYD-MO
162.1 WWJ

Looks like PBS KCET 28.1 has now been fixed. Logo is now appearing as expected.

Thank you for reporting this - request to add 25.13 Twist has now been referred to Gracenote

I am raising this with our EPG data ingestion team to establish why we are not picking up the logo

Thank you for reporting this
I have passed a request to Gracenote to add the following channels to the Local Broadcast Listings for your area

image

These are probably test or temporary channels - the main channels for each of these station providers are these

You can also check RabbitEars.Info for the list of channels for your market area

Test channels are not normally included in lineups

Thank you very much!

Thank you for addressing this so quick. You all do a good job at adding channels quickly. I wish you were this responsive at fixing the annoying bug that I have reported multiple times for years and have never got a response to. It makes watching live TV useless without recording it first and then watching it later. Livable for watching TV shows but really sucks for wanting to watch sports live.

Hi sa2000,

I appreciate the quick response!

The channels listed are ATSC 3.0 and seem to work fine on the HDHomeRun application.

Issue is that I’m not able to capture a signal for the WJBKDT stations that is in the 2.x range. Only the 1xx stations appear. I think this station is doing the bare minimum for ATSC legacy broadcasts.

Is it possible for me to still use these channels in any capacity? I’d prefer the ATSC 3.0 wherever possible since that’s the 4k / HDR , even if it took a bit of hacking from my side…

Thanks for looking into what these 100+ channels are

At the moment we do not support ATSC 3.0 channels so getting them added to the lineup will not be of great help. I do not know when we would support ATSC 3,0 - There is a forum thread relating to it here ATSC3.0 Broadcast and AC-4 Sound - Live TV & DVR - Plex Forum

I can see some old closed topics - Was the issue with channels that have more than one audio stream ? And was it the same on all Plex client apps ?

As the posts are very old now, happy to investigate the problem if you point me to the relevant forum topic and we get fresh diagnostics

Thank you for looking into this issue!!! Yes, the problem is when channels have more than one audio stream it will only play the show if I choose Spanish. When I try to switch to English it will only show the circle rotating and never play the show no matter how long I leave it. There is an option in the settings to default to English but if I use that the show won’t play at all. The only way I can watch the show is if I record it and watch it later. It will then allow me to choose English. I only watch TV on my Ubuntu computer that is hooked up to my TV in the living room. So I use Ubuntu with Firefox. If I remember right I have tried it on my phone and it worked fine on my phone. I can try it again if needed. Again if I remember right my phone has an option for audio passthrough which I think I set to allow it to work. But on Ubuntu with Firefox it does not have the passthrough option. I have also tried Chrome on Ubuntu and it does not work either.

Let me know what other information you need to get this resolved as it is very annoying and I would love to get it fixed. Thank you again for looking into this.

Edit: Here is the post where I kept asking for help and posted logs

I don’t know if this is related or not, so please ignore if isn’t but it seems to me that Plex has an issue playing video on some clients when there are multiple audio streams…

I had some very odd issues with the standard definition version of BBC1 here in the UK, a while back, on both the Tizen and Xbox apps, as the channel advertises multiple streams:

No audio for BBC1 on Freeview in Tizen Preview - Plex Players / Smart TVs - Plex Forum

New Xbox One App preview - Plex Players / Gaming Consoles - Plex Forum

On the XBox app I got no video or audio and on the Tizen app I got no audo- my workaround was to set my language so I didn’t need to press Plex staff further, or share log files and I haven’t tested it again recently.

Hi,

I need channels added to my Live TV&DVR
Zipcode 92058 - Local Broadcast Listings (122 channels)

Cannels I need added to guide are:
50.2 Defy
50.3 TruReal

Thank you

Forum thread English media stream not working on browser on live TV re-opened. Will progress the issue there

I will raise this with Gracenote. What they appear to have for your zip code are the 50.x channels from KOCE-TV as opposed to KSDY-LD stations. The KOCE-TV 50.x channels are listed in rabbitears.info for the Los Angeles and Huntington Beach markets - locations which are 60-80 miles away from your city.

I will ask Gracenote to add the KDSY-LD 50,x channels - it may mean that there will be two sets of 50.x channels in the lineup

Sorry if this isn’t where to post but I cannot find a way to post without replying to a topic…

While I’m using my own EPG xml file, it loads fine on iOS, the web (windows) will not display the logos for the channels making it very hard to navigate - what can I do? I did confirm that they are https on my end so it shouldn’t be an SSL issue.

No issues on iOS showing icons
