Live TV EPG - The update you’ve been waiting for

I have referred this to Gracenote

Thanks

I would need to see the xml or json we get back from the HD Homerun

The EPG is ok - having all 3 channels

39.1	KDFXCD2	FOX
39.2	KDFXCD	CW Plus
39.3	KDFXCD3	Dabl

We just need to see what the HD Homerun returns for the lineup

Could you make sure you have debug logging enabled on the server
(General Settings / Server / Show Advanced)

On the DVR Settings page, click on the 42 enabled channels link and a run a channel RESCAN

At the end of the channel scan - see if 39.1 appears on the left side and gets matched

If it does not, get the lineup list from the DVR
I expect it to be by sending this request

http://192.168.62.4:80/lineup.json

Copy the response into a text file and attach together with the zipped server logs

Turns out it was the HDHomeRun – it had turned off the channel for some reason. I didn’t even know you could do that through the HDHomeRun interface!

The lineup json file was the big clue. Fixed now, thanks for the help!

Any update on this, I don’t know how this is out of their DB or scope theirs 6 channels on the 47 band 46.1-46.6. The other 3 channels on the band are missing 46.7-46.9. The FUNNY thing is the channels are broadcasted from the same transmitter/broadcaster… So with that being said, how is this out of their scope of work. Heck even other providers that use gracenote have it in the EPG guide. That being emby and hdhomerun. PLEASE look into this sir. I can’t stand gracenote laziness.
Possibly another good selling point for plex would be TO SUPPORT other guides.

The UK went through a bit of a shift in channels over the last few months (on Freesat)

A few SD channels were shut down and some newer HD channels came.

ITV 2, 3 & 4 went HD while BBC converted to HD only.

BBC 1 HD should be 101 vs 106 now, and the ITV channels above should be labeled now as HD.

Do we know how long it usually takes for this to update?

The old 106 channel for BBC1 HD as a reference now gets zero broadcast info which I believe is a hint to watch on 101 only.

Does anyone know how to stop channels moving categories depending on what is being shown at that moment?

Example - a gardening show is on. The channel is in the correct “Entertainment” category. Then, the news comes on. The channel then moves to the “News” category. The news finishes, and a football match comes on - and it goes into, you guessed it, the Sports category.

It’s annoying

The issue relating to Plex Web and Plex Desktop and airings that cross over 00:00 UTC has now been fixed in versions Plex Web 102.1 and Plex Desktop 1.65.1

@sa2000
Thnx, they fixed/changed s.th.

I have no guide anymore. Recordings stopped 2/28/2023. All scheduled items marked as error. “Your Guide is empty
Please verify your channel mappings and refresh the Guide” after a refresh.

I don’t understand why the Austin Texas OTA guide is gone. Has the EPG dropped?

Hello @sa2000
i have some questions for the EPG “Browse” filter:
image

I think “(Nach) Sendung” is a bad german translation, “(Nach) Ausstrahlung” or sounds better for me. Can’t remember what it was before but it changed a few weeks ago…

second, a filter for language or HD channels would be nice.

also there is a bug, i you switch the second tab from Movies to Show or anything else, the first tab is resettet to all.

To my amazement it appears Gracenote have finally updated the ITV logo in my region.

It did take me longer to realise, so not sure when they fixed it, as it didn’t seem to flow through into my favourites. Maybe they are cached differently? But removing and re-adding resolved that.

Thanks for logging it.

I have referred this to Gracenote - requesting that channels 35.x and 36.x are added to the lineup

This has been referred to Gracenote

I have updated our open issue with gracenote to say that they already have the other 47.x 6 channels in the lineup
