Live TV EPG - The update you’ve been waiting for

Postcode: WS9
Lineup: Freeview
Channel : 041 LEGENDVM (Legend) and others

I’ve done a manual EPG refresh and I am still seeing missing poster thumbnails for the scheduled recordings in Recording Priority as show below:

Clicking on one of them to edit it shows the poster:

Sometimes the thumbnail will briefly appear after scheduling a new recording but it will then disappear.

Any word on this, has it been referred to EPG?

Also, with the new fix for the recent issue with all the recordings, Night Court is again messed up, and the New show on NBC, is being listed as the old show, and mixing together with reruns.

When will BBC One HD get it’s channel logo as well? May as well throw my two pence at this whilst everything else is going on.

Is there a known issue with DVR recordings having the wrong date? There are many posts but all closed with no response.

In my case today is the 4th day of June and it shows 4th for a second then 5th which is tomorrow. The actual file on the server is correct.

I see that there has been a “fix” for the No Upcoming airings issue. But unfortunately this is still affecting me. I’ve just done a complete reinstall and setup the dvr again. After a system reboot it just fails again.

I am guessing that some entries were created in the DVR Recording Priority list during the period between 25th May and 1st June when we had the issue

If the problem is still there, could you get me the xml responses for these requests which you can put in a browser on a machine on the local network

http://192.168.124.xxx:32400/media/subscriptions?X-Plex-Token=xxxxxxxxxx
http://192.168.124.xxx:32400/media/subscriptions/scheduled?X-Plex-Token=xxxxxxxxxx

Substitute the actual server local ip address octet for the xxx
Substitute server security token for the xxxxxxxxxx

you can find the server security token either by following the steps here Finding an authentication token / X-Plex-Token | Plex Support or getting it from the server settings Preferences.xml file from PlexOnlineToken

Copy each of the two responses into a separate txt file and attach here

I just added a new recording schedule for The Twilight Zone and the poster shows in the DVR Priority

Are you referring to the “DVR Schedule” view ?

See my post here Live TV EPG - The update you’ve been waiting for - #1985 by sa2000 substituting your IP address / token and let me have the returned xml

Could you browse the xml and see if you spot the ones relating to your screenshot and other screenshot you sent me by PM and identify them for me - together with channel number ./ name and airing date

Thanks

Are you saying the DVR schedule is ok until you reboot when it disappears ? or you get no upcoming airings ?

Please let me have country / zip code / lineup - guide name/ channel number / channel name / airing dates/times /shows and debug server logs covering the sequence of DVR Setup, setup scheduling recordings and then it goes wrong and also please indicate what goes wrong

thank you

Version 1.32.4 is out now as beta - 1.32.4.7164-1dc22f47b

See Release Note Plex Media Server - #585 by gbooker02

  • (Library) Items with EPG data could sometimes lose certain metadata fields (#14303)

Please upgrade to this version

Please update from the alpha release I sent you to the beta

Thank you for confirming the fix

It may be the issue that we just fixed in PMS 1.32.4

I have mentioned this to gracenote

This has now been referred to Gracenote.

Do you still have an issue ? What is the issue ?

If EPG refresh is not working, please run with debug logging enabled on the server and capture server logs and upload the zip here after the refresh fails

I have referred this to Gracenote

Missing 15.x channels from W15DF-D
Channels to be updated for 26.x from WMNN-LD

The Twilight Zone now has the thumbnail, although I don’t think I did anything to it it just appeared overnight. I was still missing the thumbnail for a scheduled recording for Columbo and just recreated that and today and it was the same.
The ones I am missing them for currently are Columbo, Father Ted, Tales of the Unexpected, and Castle.

Here are those two files:

scheduled.txt (140.8 KB)
subscriptions.txt (7.5 KB)

I’m not sure if I am yet again having issues with the TV Guide/DVR, however a recording that I have set for every weekday just randomly decided to fail.

The error simply says Airing was not on the required channel. Nothing indicates that this error message makes any sense?

Am I missing something? I have the recording set to 105 (CH5HD on Freesat UK), rest of the weeks same recordings are showing as normal. No idea what happened

Edit: I found this for tomorrow’s recording, stating the video format is SD. Where does it get that information from?

Another failure in the same day.

Channel plays fine when I go to watch it live

After a second reset, it seems to be working fine now. Will update if issues return.

I referred these to Gracenote today

Waiting to hear back from Gracenote regarding the regional BBC1 HD channels

Many thanks for the debug server logs and the browser dev console .har files for the tests with the bundled Plex Web app and the hosted Plex Web app

There appears to be a problem with request headers and CORS as you discovered this error on some requests blocked by CORS policy: No 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' header is present on the requested resource

I will be discussing this with the Plex Web development team

Thanks for the xml files

There thumbs / posters in the xml appear ok and accessible
May be it is a similar issue to the one seen from @Olli

Lets pick on one of these shows - the “Columbo” recordings

The xml is showing we have 3 forthcoming airings on channel 21 5USA

Do the posters show ok within other Plex apps ? eg Plex for iOS or Plex for Android ?

With regards to the Plex Web view where the posters are missing, lets try and get similar diagnostics to those from Olli

So run the server with debug logging enabled
In the browser where Plex Web is running, enable dev console (F12 key)
and set option shown here
image

Then show the DVR Schedule entry for one of these forthcoming airings to reproduce the problem

Take a screenshot and note down the time when the poster did not show

and then on the dev console - save all packets as har file

Zip the har file and send me privately - note that it will contain security tokens
And send me the related screenshot and server logs zip
