Start by saying love Plex, use it all the time, recommend it to everyone, got several other people hooked on it as well.

Hoping someone can help me, been messing around with this for the past hour. I’m trying to get this movie added to Plex:

The Fate of the Furious (2017)

For whatever reason, the server will not find it. I’ve changed the name to several different combinations, and done a manual scan each time, nothing is being recognized. I’m at a loss of what to do. Here’s what I have tried:

Fate of the Furious, The
Furious 8
The.Fate.of.the.Furious.2017
The.Fate.of.the.Furious.2017.1080p.BluRay.H264
The Fast and the Furious 8 The Fate of the Furious
The Fast and the Furious 8

It’s in a folder of media that is located fine by the server, so location is not an issue. The file plays fine through VLC, so I know it’s not corrupted. I even tried going into the properties to change the meta name to see if that helped. I’ve tried combinations in between what was listed up top as well, nothing seems to be accepted.

Can anyone offer some advice? Thanks in advance.

Put it into a folder, named exactly like that. Or use Fast & Furious 8 (2017) instead.
You can look up additional alternative title(s) for your location at The Fate of the Furious (2017) - IMDb

Make sure there is no .nfo file in the same folder which contains a wrong IMDb ID.
Perform the Plex Dance

Unfortunately neither of those options worked either. I checked the IMDB link as well but there were no additional options there that I hadn’t already tried. Here’s what I did try:

/MEDIAROOT/Fast & Furious 8 (2017)/Fast & Furious 8 (2017).mp4
/MEDIAROOT/Fast & Furious 8 (2017).mp4
/MEDIAROOT/The Fast of the Furious (2017)/The Fate of the Furious (2017).mp4

Performed a library scan each time, no change. I never keep NFO files, so none of those there confusing it.

Ooh…I’m sorry, I thought Plex Dance was your generic thread closing phrase like some people have, I didn’t realize that was actually a thing. lol I did that but still having trouble, but I may be missing something. I don’t use SubZero so I’m not performing those steps. The step for “Clean Bundles” I couldn’t figure out what was required based on the link, I found explanation on how to empty trash but no search hit for “clean” or “bundle”. Could you point me in the direction of the proper how to on that portion, or possibly elaborate?

‘Clean bundles’ is either in the library context menu
(hover your mouse over the library name at the left side, then click on the ellipsis … )

or in newer web app versions it is under
Settings - Server - Troubleshooting

Thanks, that seems to have worked, I can now see it in Plex. It’s not popping up in recently added movies but I can live with that.

Repeat the Plex Dance and then upload the PMS logs. The zipped log you get from Plex Web.
