Multi-lineup Support Now Available

I rolled back to previous server version where it worked, and had to manually re-edit the channels to lineup with my HD Homerun CableCard lineup. After refreshing from within the browser app next to (my channels), I’m back in business.

Can we please have server updates not mess with the channel lineup? Or at least the ability to let it change manually with future updates as I don’t want to just stick to this version and get left behind. Thanks!

I brought this up over a week ago and the person that is working on it… I hope, is not responding. Which leads me to believe either he’s working on it or is in Fiji sipping mojitos🤷‍♂️. Rolling back your server is the only fix.

Hang tight. Pretty sure this is the same issue that I have and it’s being looked at.

The new implementation to configure multiple tuners and regional lineups is great, but a bug fix and two improvements could add usebility:

My use case: I have four sat dishes to receive sat channels from several countries in Europe (e.g. Germany, UK, Italy). I would like to create a structured channel lineup, sorted by language, theme and relevance (e.g. 001 - 100 Germany, 101 - 200 UK, 201 - 300 News Channels,…). I have a “multiplex” m3u-list and regional sub-set lists, which are feeding different xTeve tuners. Using one xTeve tuner and the master multiplex channel list seems to be to heavy for PLEX. The sub-sets work better.

Bug: Merging channels by different EPG IDs does not work well cross-border
Merging regional channel lineups is a great improvement. But if lineups (e.g. cable provider in Switzerland and cable provider in UK) use the same channel number to identify different local programmes, PLEX only selects one of those channels. If EPG 001 is “BBC One” and in an added EPG lineup existing as EPG 001 “Das Erste” (Channel 1 Germany), one will win the race.

The web Live TV & DVR configuration table uses two different colored lines left at the channel tile to display, which tuners are connected to this channel ID. There seem to be no option to de-merge those channels, if those are different. Work-around: Use a different regional provider.

Feature requests:

1. Customized sorting:
I would like to re-sort my channels or configure own channel IDs, to allow a structered list (order by languages, content and relevance). Therefore, I already provide customized Channel IDs in my m3u-file (via xTeve), e.g.: #EXTINF:-1 id=“12” tvg-name=“ARDGERHD”,Das Erste HD… PLEX uses these to match potential lineup sources. But channel number, displayed in the EPG grid are taken from the PMS EPG source. It would be great to offer an edit option or to use other meta data like tvg-chno=“31” channel-id=“33” to enforce an user-created channel ID.

2. placeholder channels
Currently, BBC provides six “Red Button” channels to cover Wimbledon. Tennis Matches never meet any schedule, especially in rainy cities like London. So EPG schedules are of no value.

The usual cable or sat providers in the UK only cover BBC Red Button 1 or up to BBC Red Button 3. To configure BBC Red Button 4, 5 and 6, I need to select a different channel. It would make more sense to offer an empty placeholder schedule. That would not cover scheduled recordings, but would make channel streaming more user friendly.
