New EPG and release

In the UK, lots of problems still with the EPG Freeview OTA London Powered by Plex EPG.

Can I ask a question to Plex, are you only resolving issues that are reported via your EPG report issues page i.e. will only be looked at if reported?

Could you also tell us who your EPG provider is, for the UK and US?

3 STV
103 STV HD

are both known issues that have been referred to our provider for lineup
Freeview STV Central OTA Broadcast

33 is correct as STV + 1

As noted in another thread, STV issues appear to be resolved - but my system is currently hanging creating the new DVR

Freeview Anglia OTA EPG seems to have issues for the following channels:

  • ITV1+1, ch 33 - no logo, listings simply “To be announced”
  • Your TV, ch 72 - no logo, listings simply “Unknown airing”
  • PBS America, ch 91 - no logo, “To be announced”
  • Smithsonian Channel, ch 99 - no logo, “Radio programming”

Plus many radio channels showing “Radio programming” (though some do have correct listings).

“Now 80s” and “Now 90s” channels not present in the EPG at all.

Looks like this is fixed now, and back to the old functionality. - Joe

I literally just (2200 on 4 July 2019) updated using the STV Central OTA guide and STV / STV HD are giving me ITV London, so it’s not fixed for everyone. 009 and 115 (BBC Scotland) also not working—still showing ‘Radio Programming’

The Talking Pics thing is infuriating. When they were correctly listed as movies, you could search by actor (eg Stanley Baker, Dirk Bogarde). Now that the guide thinks all these movies are TV shows, this functionality doesn’t work anymore.

ETA: Yes, I reported via Google Docs

Same here

@sa2000, do you know when this will be fixed
Because yesterday I set up a new recording schedule for Eastenders and today it is still displaying ‘no upcoming airings’ - but there is a new episode coming on in 5 minutes.

I think I just figured it out. Change it from HD Only to HD Preferred.

I removed all the SD Channels from my guide listings so hd only will be recorded anyways. Now its showing all shows to be recorded. Otherwise it sayd no upcoming airings. Been trying to figure it out for weeks now!

WEll it’s going to be a rough weekend - looks like it won’t record the first Fifa World Cup game today - no matter what the heck I try.

REALLY think a ‘manual’ recording option needs to be available ASAP to let people work around the EPG issues until that’s 100% resolved. At least a work around being available makes life easier!!!

I may have to find someone who got a good recording and have them upload it to my dropbox. I can record Sunday’s fine, but it seems that today’s game is listed as July 3rd, so maybe it thinks it is in the past?? what a pain in the butt.

For BBC programmes in the meantime, try: https://github.com/get-iplayer/get_iplayer

@hugothehippo Or there is TVHeadend and Antennas on Linux to grab the EPG, this I may use over the next couple of days and hope for the best that it picks up all the radio stations here in South Wales, I know it picks up all the TV channels, which is great!!

Still major issues with the EPG for me. Buzzr, H&I, Bounce, Retro being the worst with almost every episode of every show listed as new. But even the Major networks have issues like Judge Judy Season 19 (2015) on Fox being marked as new.

I have deleted the DVR and re scanned several times over the past couple of days and don’t really see an improvement. Thankfully Emby is picking up slack for me.

I feel bad for complaining reading how bad you UK and other countries have it. But there it is.

I have the same issue
very frustrating

I had a look at my settings for the scheduled recording that I’m trying to get to work, and it was already set to prefer HD.

So I played around with other settings, and I was able to get this week’s new episodes of Eastenders to appear in the recording calendar by selecting ‘New and Repeat Airings’ - which shouldn’t have worked.

Let’s see if it actually works

@sa2000 The new Eastenders episode on BBC1 successfully recorded this evening after I updated the scheduled recording to ‘new and repeat airings’ - it doesn’t schedule a recording when it is set to ‘New airings’.

Another issue, is that the saved recording was given with the wrong episode number - S35E24
The correct episode number is S35E109.

Are you aware of these issues?

Same Issue here with the episodes being marked as New. I had upgraded to 1.16.1.1246 and then went back to 1.16.0.1220 version before July 1st and upgraded back to 1.16.2.1297 on July 5th.

One example I can share is “Last Man Standing” this past Sunday they still recorded correctly because they still showed the correct season and episode, as below: (and they look like they are correct that way through next Sunday the 14th)

But now starting on the 16th’s episodes look like this:

Back to the calendar date and the title of the show, not the specific episode metadata.

Also, when I upgraded to the first version (1.16.1.1246) with the new program guide, it had “The Three Stooges” season and episode data correct, which the old guide never had. So I was ecstatic. When the most recent version came out, it was broken again, but I just looked now and it actually looks correct again? If you fixed it, god bless you!

Still one huge CF!

Still not fixed five days later. I’ve just deleted and re-added my guide, using Freeview STV Central OTA Broadcast.

Wrong mapping
3 STV - ITV National
103 STV HD - ITV National

No guide data:
8 That’s TV Scotland - To be announced
49 True Movies - To be announced
54 Paramount - Radio Programming
83 Now 80s - To be announced
84 Now 90s - To be announced
91 PBS America - To be announced
96 Forces TV - Forces TV Programming
99 Smithsonian - Radio Programming
115 - BBC Scotland HD - Radio programming

Incorrect guide data:
19 Dave / 72 Dave Ja Vu - content is flipped, with Dave content appearing on Ch72 and Dave Ja Vu content appearing on Ch19

66 / 67 / 72 CBS Channels - Because no episode content is being pulled for the majority of the programming across all three channels, and eps are therefore being given the date / time airings with generic series info, all eps default to ‘new’.

81 Taking Pics - all content showing as TV shows, not movies

Actual radio programming is a joke. The only BBC Radio stations with any information are Radio 3 (703) and Radio 5 Live Extra (706). Of the commercial stations, only Smooth (718) and Classic (731) have info.

I can confirm that this is essentially the same for Freeview Yorkshire OTA
