@sa2000 Same here in South Wales, but where ITV Wales should be, it’s ITV Network and the rest of the channels are the same across all regions after I found a lithe time to finally check what’s going on.
Seems the tin hats in order with the flak jacket… I have plenty of rations if you need to go under cover
But seriously, we’re now coming up to 2 weeks running the new EPG abs it seems we’re going nowhere fast. We need answers to what’s taking so long, not the scripted answer you have earlier!!!
I am sorry I know that some issues have been a while - we are currently looking into getting the freeview National uk OTA broadcast lineup with option to select the appropriate regional channels for BBC and itv and channel 4 - it still won’t have the fix for 102 bbc 2 HD but for other channels it should be possible to pick the right channel
I will post here when I know that interim fix is in place
A change went live this morning (UK/Europe time) that would address issues with not having the right regional BBC / ITV / Channel 4 channels by allowing the selection of the Freeview-National United Kingdom OTA Broadcast lineup and manually mapping the relevant BBC1, BBC2, ITV, Channel 4 channels from the drop down.
This is a temporary fix to allow for any regional OTA lineups that do not have the right regional channels. The channels will be presented with a channel number followed by -n where n is a sequence number.
Please note that this does not resolve issues with channel 8 for London Live or 102 for BBC 2 HD outside Northern Ireland
@sa2000, since I m sure a lot of these little nitpicky problems will take a long time to get to, is there anyway to either schedule a manual recording that can be added (I’m sure that is not easy) or to add more granularity in selecting specific show days?
My specific issue: The new EPG changed CBS: This Morning: Saturday to CBS: This Morning, which now makes it named the same as the ones on Mon-Fri.
But I ONLY want the Saturday one.
In the advanced settings, I can limit to specific times and specific channels. Can specific “days” be added, so I only record the one on Saturday? Or fix the EPG to show the Saturday suffix again? Or allow manual recordings?
You can see here that ZapToIt shows the Saturday suffix still:
Not having much luck with the new EPG (UK user). Deleted old DVR, setup new one using OTA as suggested. Then set recording - showing up fine in EPG but on the DVR schedule nothing is coming up. Went to future dates and still showing up (with red ‘series link’ icon, but nothing records. Previously worked without an issue for months. It also, despite being asked to ‘prefer HD’ seemed to record SD. If I then said HD only and gave it the HD channel it didn’t record anything! Putting ‘new airings only’ rather than ‘new and repeat’ shows nothing to record. Clearly still some issues with the data.
I wonder what answer @sa2000 will give you @EDIflyer? Stay tuned for “Send me your logs so I can pretend that I know what I’m looking for” or “You need to select the Freeview National OTA Lineup!” My money is on both answers!!!
EPG here in the US was good till last night. It was set to record krypton on syfy and now that I want to watch it was not recorded. I Just checked the guide and all next week I have gaps after 8pm. This is my attempt to contact you to fix the issue as required by the BBB and FTC.
I never upgraded because I knew this would be a ■■■■ show. Oddly, the guide data is fine for me after July 1st, and it looks like i have full 2 weeks of guide data going forward. Is it supposed to be working?
I am on version 1.15.6.x because I had issues with 1.16 the last time I upgraded and rolled it back.
Please revert back to Gracenote for the next couple of months for the EPG, and do a lot of internal testing before you switch back to Powered by Plex, which does not work at the moment, and needs a lot of testing before it may work as well as Gracenote
Fully agree, but I expect that the arrogance of the Plex developers will not allow them to provide a working system when they have made such a mess of things!
All of you seem to be ignoring the possibility that this change may have been forced on Plex, possibly by Gracenote raising their prices or some other factor.
Yes, you may be right about that, but that does not help with the complete mess that is the current EPG for us users, I think this change should have been tested a lot more prior to it being implemented!
Would love to know what Plex internal testing was done prior to the release of Powered by Plex?
Gracenote/Nielsen has raised their prices on all providers in the last couple of years, which is why Dish, Cox and others have moved to the inferior Rovi data.
What gets fixed is usually only temporary before Rovi breaks it again. Usually only the first week of Rovi data has episode specific info, the 2nd week of Rovi data listings is usually just generic info which populates most dvrs as needing to be recorded since there is no season/episode or original broadcast data filled in. Some weeks it never updates with the episode specific data.
I think you spoke to soon, or maybe you reminded them to flip the switch. I started noticing today that my guide won’t update with a manual refresh. It acts like it starts and then quits around 1%.
There are a lot of things we do for them and I’m looking forward to seeing what been, being and in the pipeline done when @cire12 has chance to publish the spreadsheet and Plex finally becomes more transparent then the closed source it’s been so far!
Channel 5 after tonight is a no go here, no descriptions or information on the guide
