For the life of me, I cannot find a way to use this guild setup.
For example, if I want to findout if Orville is airing, how do I do that? Do I literally have to scroll through every single day and scan up and down the list of every single channel? With the old guide, I could simply select TV Shows, Sci-Fi, and scroll through the list by series and look to see if there was a series airing sometime in the next few weeks that I have not been recording.
The closest we have now is under recommended “Upcoming Movies”. But that is only movies and there appears to be no way to filter by genre. There is no “Upcoming TV Shows” at all, filtered or unfiltered.
While I appreciate being able to have the same view on my phone as my computer. If I can’t actually select what I want to record in a meaningful way it is useless to me.
How in the world are you still getting the guide option in the dropdown? I owly get “Today” and other dates as an option. “Guide” is just plain gone and has been gone for about 2 months now.
As these are Australian shows, how does the provider know the date aired for the UK?
Luckily with Neighbours, we air on the same date as Australia, so as you mention 8178 aired in both countries on 28th Aug, so what tvdb shows works for Aus & UK
If you look at Home and Away in your screen shot, this shows 7163 as airing on 28th, which is correct for uk, but if you go by tvdb the episode for 28th is 7195 which aired in Aus yesterday
ignoring the issue of being one episode out for the moment, how are the provider working out what episode aired in the UK? as the screenshots you show from tvdb are the Aus aired dates
The current season is 3 (its counted for the time its been on CH4). The guide is either got the wrong series (S10) or the wrong details (E2 is Biscuits, Plex is showing Bread).
In truth though, no rush to fix this. Broadcast television is dead. I’ve scanned through primetime for the next week (that seems to be the maximum time the now shown) and not a single show of interest. Most channels are broadcasting infomercials, and shows form the 70’s and 80’s (and not very good ones at that). News, etc. 37 channels, and nothing on. Ever.
My second HDHomeRun seems to have stopped working this summer. And I haven’t even bothered to go up to the attic to check on it. What is the point?
Everything good now days is behind a paywall.
My recording schedule consists of Law & Order SVU, Coach, Murdock Mysteries, I Dream of Jeannie, The Simpsons, and Flashpoint. Generally 50% of the recordings are incomplete, so I delete them before reencoding as h265. Then then 25% of those come out short after reencoding, indicating they were also bad recordings. Then when I used TV Rename, 50% or so I will already have a copy of that episode recorded. So I’ll have about 10 episodes out of the week. I’ll keep recording until they are complete enough to start watching. Then I’ll get annoyed at all the commercials that didn’t get dropped, or parts of the show that did get drop and end-up torrenting the whole series, or finding it is available on Netflix.
So really this whole DVR thing is just a time suck, and not really worth the time I put into it.
I am sorry but if you do not tell me what is wrong, giving a specific example, I can’t take it further. I have a backlog of other reports and without any clues, it would just take a lot longer to see what you are referring to as being the problem.
What client app are you referring to here? Is it Plex Web App ?
If you select the “Live TV and DVR” screen and then try search button, you should be able to search by TV Series.
This appears to be a knock on effect of re-use of Season 3 by C4. “Bread” is the title of the old “Season 3 Episode 2”.
I can’t actually look deeper into this because our provider has already made changes to switch it to be Season 10 and these changes will come through over the next few days.
As I’m here - the screenshots you have posted look wrong - the episode numbers of ‘My Wife and Kids’ seem to be transposed and also ‘Dance Moms’ looks to be out …
I can get this for you tonight when I can next access the server but how long are we going to do this for you? Post after post telling you where it’s wrong, things being fixed, being broken again. Can’t you see that the whole approach is completely flawed?
The Saturday line up is incorrect. From memory, it had the mediocre Russell Crowe Robin Hood movie shown in late evening and that’s not in the schedule when I checked Freeview. When I checked further , the whole line up was different. I can’t comment on other days, I wasn’t looking at them.
Thank you. Please check which lineup is being used (server settings Live TV and DVR) and what channel 30 is mapped to
And if the lineup is a Freeview xxxx OTA Broadcast lineup, pleade do an EPG refresh and check after that completes
