New EPG and release

Took a while to get to your post that I bookmarked

I am looking into this. Looking at old data before the switchover, I thought we would have recorded it 3 times a week ignoring the ones that aired on the same day.

I need to establish first that they are definitely repeats and to see when the first airing of each is and when the repeats start in a week

Brilliant, thanks!

Further to my earlier post, I found when the “Click” episodes start repeating. I am referring this to our provider to ensure repeats are identified as the same episode rather than having a new identifier

Thanks for flagging this. It has now been referred to our provider

@sa2000 Is this in the list of things to look at? I can’t see it in the spreadsheet.

Don’t hold your breath, I’ve used the form to report issues for Com Hem and none of it has been added to the spreadsheet, and the channels that were missing data (at least the ones I’ve bothered to check) are still missing data.

Both episodes are now set to Season 10 at our end.
You can do a full guide refresh to correct the existing entries for “The Great British Bake Off”

Though I have the program set to record new and repeat airings, I can’t get the following new episode of Dragons’ Den on BBC 2/BBC2 HD (UK) which airs for the first time on Sunday night to appear in the planner as if it is going to record.

I know for certain that the episode should actually be S17-E4, but don’t know if this in itself is the reason why the program won’t record. Any ideas?

There is a new series of Made in Chelsea starting on E4 in the UK on Monday night at 21:00. The episode is flagged as being new but rather than being S18-E1 which is correct, the episode is currently shown as S17-E15.

I have just selected Record and it is showing at the bottom of the Recordings / Calendar View for 1st September

Also showing at the bottom of the Recording Priority

Recording Options I have set:
All Episodes
New and Repeat Airings

What existing episodes do you have in the library for this show?
You could go through Modify Recording and save changes - but not make any actual changes and get the server logs and can then have a look for any errors if it still does not show

I will refer the incorrect episode number issue to our provider

I think that your comment about the existing episodes in the library is a likely explanation. I am still to watch and delete last weeks episode which was actually S17-E3. I suppose the system thinks that it has therefore already recorded that episode and so won’t record it again?

could you get me a directory print out showing date/time created and then I can see if I can find schedule for that date - so episode number is repeating itself. If the numbers were out by 1, I would expect the existing one to be S17 E2 and not E3

Both of these errors have now been referred to our provider

This has now been referred to our provider

I will be looking into these. A lot of corrections have been made already but I am not sure at this moment if changes made to Season/Episode metadata for the UK Terrestrial channels would also apply in other countries and cable delivery of the channels

Have you gone through an EPG manual refresh through server settings ?

How beautifully random that over a month after he first reported it, and two weeks after I reported it along with several other channels via the form, a forum post was what made it appear in the tracking sheet. My conclusion is that excessive posting in the forums is the only way to have issues looked at.

I am sorry that it has come to this. There is a big backlog on the submitted forms and at the same time a lot of the issues reported have actually been addressed and resolved.

I will look into your 2 submitted forms

@sa2000 - The great number and type of error indicate a serious flaw in where and how your current provider sources and provides the EPG data. I have absolutely no confidence that this provider will ever be reliable, and especially cope with the ever changing lineup that occurs with UK channels (and I assume other countries).

What is being done to address this, because without some form of believable assurance, a DVR that is unreliable will never be used.

@rockard - I need your help with one of your issues

Channel 97 “Viasat Film Premiere HD”
The issue being that it is showing data for the Norwegian channel instead of the Swedish channel.

Are you able to point to specific airings for today and in following days where this is happening, The first ones I checked are the same airings in both the Swedish and Norwegian channels

I have extracted first few films from the EPG . According to Google Translate the text in the summary is Swedish.

TV Schedule - Viasat Film Premiere Sweden (https://www.viasat.se/tv-guide)

TV Schedule - Viasat Film Premiere Norway(https://www.viasat.no/tv-guide)

Thanks for your reply! Channel 97 is no longer an issue, the guide data now shows the Swedish channel. Alternatively, I reported the wrong channel, because channel 140 (Viasat Film Hits HD) now shows data for the Norwegian channel.

Another issue that has been fixed is channel 12 having the wrong logo. There are other channels with missing or wrong logos, but I’ve been hesitant to report them since it’s a rather minor issue, and I wasn’t sure you were looking at the submitted forms.

Channels with no guide data (haven’t bothered to report some of them before, since I wasn’t sure you were looking at the forms):
