New EPG and release

Any update on what is going on with Home and Away (UK Freeview, Ch.5 13:15)

It is still showing the days date for each episode

EG, today has it as 01/10/2019
This should be Either S32E147 or if we are using dates 19/08/2019)

So is the issue now just these 4 channels missing ? from your original 17 channel list - only 1 remains not in the lineup (479)

479 - Fox Sports 2 (HD)
485 - Fox Business Network (HD)
551 - POP (HD)
563 - NASA (HD)

The link you provided http://www.fidelitycommunications.com/processing/mklineup.php?townid=16 does not have 485 and 551

Yes, my cable provider left out a few channels when they updated the channel listing, which I think is how the channels were accidentally removed.

Right now, I’m still missing the following from my lineup:
411 - Weather Channel (HD)
416 - Disney Channel (HD)
453 - Freeform (HD)
479 - Fox Sports 2 (HD)
485 - Fox Business Network (HD)
492 - IFC (HD)
551 - POP (HD)
563 - NASA TV (HD)

(411, 416, 453 and 492 randomly were removed last week. They happen to be the exact same channels someone else had removed above – weird!)

Viacom channels were removed from my lineup this morning and several other channels were added in their place. If you see visit the channel line up again (http://www.fidelitycommunications.com/processing/mklineup.php?townid=16), you’ll see all Viacom channels have been removed and channels 456, 466, 468, 474, 531, 533, 545 and 560 need updating.

456 - UPtv (HD)
466 - Revolt (HD)
468 - The Country Network (HD)
474 - TV One (HD)
531 - Kids Central (HD)
533 - Universal Kids (HD)
545 - Ovation (HD)
560 - Aspire (HD)

Also, here is a print out of my available channels after a scan this morning on my HDHR Prime.

Thanks @Noah0504 - we have 3 different set of issues here - leading to same outcome as far as you are concerned

  1. We have Fidelity missing some channels from their list of channels and so they could get removed by our EPG provider

  2. We have channel changes that need to be applied by our EPG provider. I will raise this with our provider

  3. We are losing channels from lineups for some reason. may be a change for one area is affecting another. This will need to be investigated at our end and I have referred this to our team

Yes, that sums it up pretty well (I was worried my post was going to just add confusion). Thank you!

Is this link would always give the latest position or would there be a separate link for each set of changes? http://www.fidelitycommunications.com/processing/mklineup.php?townid=16

Yes, that should always have the latest changes. However, as you pointed out, there are a few channels that are have been left off in error.

How long is the expected wait to have a channel data added? In particular I’m curious about the missing channel in my market I posted earlier (4.2 DECADES, DFW market, 75252).

Also, how is all this effort seen as any kind of ā€œsavingsā€ over just continuing with the EPG provider previously used?

We’re 4 months into this and to my recollection the prior provider interface caused negligible hiccups in the previous 2 years. Considering all the code changes, all the effort for PLEX employees to track down things when they could be working to improve the DVR capabilities which have remained deficient and static at best, and all the user frustration, was it worth it?

Is someone monitoring this decision from a product point of view, from a TCO perspective? Seems like a very bad business decision but I won’t even attempt a guess on the cost of going back to what used to reliably work (one of the few things in the LineTV/DVR feature that actually did work reliably before these changes).

Once acknowledged, it’s pretty quick.

Can’t comment on this from a Plex point of view, but regardless of who the EPG provider is, changes would still probably have to be reported. When Gracenote was being used, I had to submit trouble tickets to get changes and corrections made.

My question was to PLEX but since you answered I can comment based on real experience with them and other services. Having to ask for OTA changes was almost ā€œNEVER REQUIREDā€ in the US. They were typically updated in near real time as they followed the FCC filings. At least that was MY experience.

I lost Disney, IFC, Freeform and Weather Channel today (10/1) as well - just poof! gone. I can still tune them manually. What is really unfortunate is that these same channels displayed ā€œunknown airingā€ and ā€œChannel No Longer Broadcastingā€ for the last half of September on my system and other users’ systems too.

So, something was already going wrong with these channels several weeks ago. Why do these problems persist for more than a day or two? Never mind 2 weeks with no program data followed by channel disappearance. This is not how an EPG is supposed to run.

I wouldn’t have noticed Disney and Freeform, but I actually posted in this very thread a week or so ago about the ā€œChannel No Longer Broadcastingā€ for Weather Channel and IFC. Odd thing is it did it on and off. Sometimes after a refresh I would have program information, other times it would just show the message.

Some googlin’ says that IFC Canada was shut down on September 30, 2019. So that might explain why the channel was put on a ā€œNo Longer Broadcastingā€ list, but USA carriers should not be on that list.

Any thoughts on when the issue with Films separated by a break will record as a continuous recording? The workaround is tedious to check every time and throws the schedule out. Been like it for 4 months now.

The new prestige BBC1 drama series, ā€œWorld On Fireā€, was listed correctly as ā€œNewā€ last Sunday. But next Sunday’s episode (9pm Sunday 6th October, BBC1HD) is not listed as New.

Freeview Anglia OTA.

Another person who has lost channels.

Now missing is:

  • ABC Family channel 828
  • Disney HD channel 849
  • Weather Channel 851

I hope the day I can actually trust the guide to be correct is not too far off. Considering most shows are still missing S/E data though I’m not hopeful. This makes me feel like i’m back in the early 90’s with VCR+. Sure you get recordings, but what they are who knows.

TYVM for looking into this

Re Comhem Sweden Digital lineup

channel 153 has just been setup with feeds from SVT Barnkanalen and SVT24

Please refresh the guide and confirm if now ok. There is data now but I cannot tell if the change that our provider has made has actually fed through to the guide data

and these 2 channels were corrected before that

  • 117 Fuel TV (EMEA)
  • 122 CNBC

Are they OK?

Is this the lineup?
ā€œGrande ClearSource Dallas Digitalā€

Correct.
