Yep. I have resorted to recording to a hidden library that doesn’t show on the home screens and then manually copying recordings to the visible library once I know it is accurate.
Since the switch in EPG providers I’ve given up on recommending Plex to anyone as a DVR solution. Plex is like the opposite of set-it-and-forget-it now days. It requires too much babysitting to get anything useful out of the DVR system.
The database does show the discrepancies between titles and originally aired date - and the issue with the originally aired date is because we are picking the earliest date and it appears that for some episodes we have earlier Canada broadcasts
This shows all airings of the series extracted from the EPG database
Depends - sometimes it is very quick. Some issues are more complex.
I will post here once I get notified of the fix and I verify that it is ok - where I can
I think the Saturday Night Live episode scheduled for April 11 is supposed to be new. But the EPG currently does not mark it as new. That would be Saturday Night Live, 11:30PM Eastern (not the earlier one) on NBC.
And the show title is supposed to be “SNL at Home”. It is currently misidentified as John Mulaney rerun.
Well, somebody is trying anyway… As of 4/11 at 6:00AM the 11:30PM eastern SNL is correctly marked as new. However, the 10:00PM eastern SNL is incorrectly marked as new.
The 10PM SNL show is a repeat and should not be marked new.
@sa2000, The Lansing, MI list “Broadcast TV Lansing OTA Broadcast” (There are two with the same name in the list. The second one is more accurate) is missing channels 53.1 WLAJ-DT (ABC) and 53.2 WLAJ-DT (CW). Is there any chance you could get those added to the list?
The EPG data for DC’s Legends of Tomorrow on CW is still wrong.
DVR—Verizon FiOS Burlington Digital
Channels 12/512
The upcoming episode is listed as S05E08 , when it is in fact S05E09. The episode markings have been wrong all season, and this is causing problems with episodes that are new being marked as not new/repeats.
Here is a screen shot of Plex DVR with the incorrect Episode numbering.
Here is a screen shot of the Episode Guide from IMDB with the correct Episode numbering.
EVERY freaking episode of victor and valentino is marked new now and all are endlessly recording multiple times.
Thankfully the “real” new V&V episodes are also marked new as well as properly split into 15 minute chunks.
EVERY dang “red bull signature series” (on every channel they air on) is STILL marked new, no matter if it says the original air date was seven freaking years ago!?!?! I now have almost 2TB of that BS to sift through and clean out.
Series numbering still completely fubar on all cartoons I’ve reported. Consistently fubar, but still fubar, with multiple identically labeled S/E shows with completely different actual episodes.
This BS makes it impossible to actually record this stuff entirely.

Same issue here in Burlington, VT 05403 OTA (31.1) CW
You screwed up SEAL Team and SWAT on CBS last night. Both were reruns, but Plex marked and recorded them as the next new episode.
So looking at next week 4/22 the episode numbers are off. Next week should be:
SEAL Team - S3E18 - Edge of Nowhere
SWAT - S03E19 - Vice
( DVR—Broadcast TV Grnvll-Spart-Ashvll OTA Broadcast)
NOTE: Plex, maybe your EPG data provider should buy a subscription to Gracenote and do a compare every week so they can flag any differences and give manual attention to it. At this point it’s just comical they keep screwing up practically every week for 9 months straight, while Gracenote seemingly has barely any inaccuracies. It would be undestandable if broadcasters were handing out bad data, but the Gracenote accuracy means that must not be the case.
