@sa2000 … To your question on whether the episode of “The Flash” that was broadcast this week, I can confirm that the EPG data (at least for Denver) was date based suffix in the EPG prior to recording and not season / episode based. SxxExx. That is a switch from how the EPG has been for the entire season. Episodes of “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow” also has this switch.
I have put in a workaround and have been manually marking episodes to record to a different library and then am fixing episode naming and numbering so that errors don’t result in missed recordings. As you can imagine this is exhausting. I don’y understand why these types of errors keep popping up. What is wrong with your EPG provider? They are completely unreliable.
Not an EPG issue per se, but there’s also bugs with Plex displaying the “new” tag. I don’t have a comprehensive list, but for example, on the Android app the new tag is shown in the DVR schedule page for a show but not shown in the guide page for the same program. I’ve seen similar behavior in the web app as well. This isn’t the case in all circumstances. Note Steven Colbert.
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit is screwed up again in OTA Denver Market.
Last episodes I recorded were identified as follows:
Thu, Apr 16 at 21:00 on 9.1 KUSAHD (NBC) --> S21·E23—Solving for the Unknowns
Thu, Apr 23 at 21:00 on 9.1 KUSAHD (NBC) --> S21·E25—The Things We Have to Lose
This numbering is interesting, as CBS indicates the highest episode broadcasted is S21E20 on 23 Apr. 2020. The above episode numbers should really be 19 and 20. Unfortunately, because of these incorrect numbers the actual future episodes 23 and 25 would be skipped as already recorded. I don’t even think there are 25 episodes.
I can see that for the 3rd May airing 23:30 CDT it was marked as new. So this was the error you are referring to? I do not see any more airings after that.
The airing at 23:45 CDT for 3rd May is now showing as “New” for me - may be it was a late update.
The remaining airings are currently showing as follows with one marked “New”
Sorry to claim V&V were “all” marked new. I’m just looking at my recording schedule since I don’t have a nice tabular view like that.
Essentially in your table there are four new episodes. The 15min episodes on Saturday morning, at 08:30 and 08:45. None of the rest are new.
Looking at your table though I see nonsense numbering creeping in again. There are two different unrelated airings displayed for S02E06-09. It seems like I wouldn’t even record those “real” new episodes, because invalid combo episodes labeled incorrectly air before them.
Both Apple & Onion “new” episodes are definitely not new.
That might have been the last Tigtone to air. I don’t see anymore.
new Shivering Truth, didn’t realize it was renewed.
DS9 S06E04 was the only episode I was missing, and it was marked new on the recording schedule. It finished recording three hours ago.
The response we have is that the channel only passed on the new schedule on the 22nd April and it was processed that day and we would have picked it up within 24-48 hours of that happening
I have reported the “New” indicator issue to our provider.
For the other problem - some of these are combo airings - they are the ones with the two titles and semi colon in the title field. These are not supposed to be sequenced. I have refered this to our provider
There’s two types of sequenced airings though. Those which contain two random 15min episodes, and then those who always air N and N+1 in a 30 min block. The latter should be sequenced or “airing dated”. The random airings should just have their titles so they can be collected, but not have S/E info, because it’s obviously invalid.
As long as numbering is kept consistent per season of a show I’m happy. Thanks for helping.
At the moment combos would be just based on original air date information - but we do have some issues when the combo indicator is changed - this needs to be fixed -
None of the airings for the series have got the combo indicator even though there are 26 that have combo titles. This needs to be fixed by our provider.
I do not believe we get an indication if the combo episodes are sequential or random - I will follow this up and record it as something to look into and explore possible solutions.,
Yes, but, the mistake is in the guide data here. That should be S3E5 and S3E6. S3E4 recorded last week, with manual intervention, but never got any S/E data besides “Episode 4”.
