There is an automatic update as part of Scheduled Tasks which happens daily. See the Scheduled Tasks list in server settings
Would need server logs after the scheduled tasks period if the auto updates are not happening.
(Sometimes the daily refresh runs before the new data is available and ends up being 24 hours behind and a manual refresh would help with those. I have this on list of future improvements to get looked into)
The change came across with last nights EPG refresh. It makes me wonder if it would have been resolved naturally by the vendor or if it was only your intervention that solved it. Because the community trust level is so low right now with the EPG we are all on edge when we don’t see things that should be scheduled to record. I think every person on this thread has been burned by multiple missed recordings because of the EPG.
As the season is coming to close, I am hoping for a better experience come fall 2020.
The last two weeks of DC’s Legend’s of Tomorrow had the wrong year. They record as 2015 now instead of 2016 like they did for the first ten episodes this season. How does that suddenly change in the middle of a season?
And as mentioned before, the episode numbers are still off since the beginning of Season 6. They are always an episode number behind. The episode titles are right though.
That one just got put right in time without my intervention.
Basically data starts off badly and then gets refined and updates happen - there would be an impact - if the adjustments do not get made in time for the feed into files we ingest and then sometime later by Plex Media Server by its daily refreshes. Also of course if no refinements are made
The 17th is the first ever world premier, of season 1, not 3.
You know, I honestly don’t care that someone else is getting it incorrect too. You’re both wrong. For that matter if you split the dang eps into fifteen minute single episodes like they freaking should be then this wouldn’t be an issue–because you’d know that each individual single ep is from a year ago or longer!!
This is your guide providers issue. If they want to call random episode X paired with random episode Y “new” simply because those two episodes have never been aired together than that is a brain dead idiotic way of handling the situation.
If I go to titantv.com what do I see? ALL the episodes pretty much broken into proper 15 minute chunks. NONE marked new.
You pick any of those apple & onion episodes and tell me they haven’t aired yet.
Like I’ve already said, multiple times over the course of a year now, the evening “adult swim” portion of cartoon network changes their lineup frequently. When they do that you end up getting that data the day of airing or a day or two late. It’s almost like there’s multiple delays in the pipeline ensuring that last minute changes will almost never be displayed.
Look at adult swim friday night. There’s another double marathon, beef house then tim & eric. Right now there is no S/E/T data for the shows. Later today there might be, by tomorrow there most definitely will be full info for every episode. Will plex actually get any of those updates? Well they haven’t properly labeled any of these marathons for three weeks in a row, so I doubt it, and I doubt they’ll get the updates for any of the other upcoming marathons either.
Again, titantv.com has all of these updates display when they’re available.
Last minute changes do not get picked up in time - because of the pipeline
broadcaster → EPG provider → EPG Provider ingestion of updates → daily feed files → Plex ingestion of daily feed files → Plex Media Server daily scheduled tasks refreshing guides
We do have plans for future improvements here including intra-day updates.
This is a national broadcast. One would think the name is enough. Could you not just search for DC’s Legend’s of Tomorrow (2015) – as opposed to the correct (2016) year, and find the wrong listings everywhere it shows up?
It would be very interesting to know if these kinds of errors for a national broadcast are only showing up in a few local listings.
Anyway - my only way to investigate is to start with a zip code and lineup and then get the channels and from the provided channel number and channel name, get the schedule for that channel in that lineup and start an investigation
I still cannot find the Cartoon Network channel on this web page https://titantv.com/Default.aspx?r=t
What broadcast channel number is it ?
It is not listed.
I cannot find it on this screen
If updates are so close to the airing time, such updates will only have a chance of getting picked up when we do the future development work of intra-day ingestions and Plex Media Server EPG refreshes more frequent than every 24 hours.
