New EPG and release

With the type of errors seen on this, it would not be possible. Some of these combo airings were not being flagged as “combo” so even if we put in checks - they would not have spotted these combo errors

right. Emby, faced with losing Schedules Direct, chose to keep the good guide data and engage directly with Gracenote.

Plex chose to stop paying Gracenote for the good stuff, and now pays pennies for guide data that isn’t even worth the pennies they’re paying.

Give me a choice to spend a few extra bucks for Gracenote data, and I will happily pay it.

We have completed ingestion of the 29th May data and the cache has cleared. Please do a manual refresh of the Guide or wait for the next automatic scheduled task and check for these errors and let me know if they are still there.

Please do let me know lineup name, channel number, channel name, series name, airing time and timezone and what the error is

Thanks

I did a manual refresh and the “new” listing on Sunday’s rerun episodes is still present.

Broadcast TV Grnvll-Spart-Ashvll OTA Broadcast
Channel 62.1
CW Network
5/31 - 8:00pm EDT - Stargirl - rerun but listed in Plex as new
5/31 - 9:00pm EDT - Supergirl - rerun but listed in Plex as new

For three countries world wide. Yaaay. If you are not living in one of these countries you are screwed.

Is Plex the only option outside those three countries?

Probably not. I just wanted to point out the Emby isn’t the better deal in terms of dvr for the majority of the population in this planet. At least not out of the box. If you get your own schedules direct access, there are several possibilities.

Which is why, of course, you went with Plex, right?

Oh, wait–EVERYONE in the world is screwed with Plex, who chose crappy Rovi data for EVERYONE.

What was your point again? Or maybe you’re just not happy if anyone else is happy?

My point is, that with Plex at least you get a guide outside of the US, UK and the other country I forgot without “jumping through hoops”. I am very happy for you if you live in one of the three countries so you can benefit from that.

Numbering is still rubbish for my complaint irt “it’s pony” on nickelodeon (45/845)

As well the night time cartoon network (48/848) “adult swim” 7pm to 4am block is 100% invalid from this upcoming monday June 1 on.

If you call Rovi “a guide”. It’s junk.

I’ve looked into and played with Plex, Emby, and Channels. I’ve also looked at Tablo. They’re all equivalent–that is, they each suck at about the same level. The details may differ, but the overall level of suckage is the same.

I say that coming from 15+ years of ReplayTV and Windows Media Center, two platforms that absolutely nailed it. Why getting a modern DVR in this day and age is so diffcult, I don’t know.

I will have a look.

There was another ingestion update that became available (with cache all clear) 6 hours ago. This may have fixed some of the errors

Just did another full refresh, “adult swim” block is still almost entirely incorrect.

I have passed this on - but the last feedback on this was our provider needs 24-48 hours for changes to get delivered into extracts that we process. And there would be further delays for processing at our end and pick up by Plex Media Server - so changes close to airing time may not get picked up in time.

I may have mentioned this before but we do plan to add intraday ingestion of updates but that is a future development requiring changes to our ingestion process and the Plex Media Sever automatic updates to the EPG. This would give us a better chance of picking some of the late changes.

That’s a lame and getting very old response. The data has been out there and correctly displayed by other sources for well over a week. There is nothing last minute about this at all. Your night time schedule on 848 is 100% invalid for the next two weeks.

I’m just about done with the DVR here…no improvements and playing whack-a-mole with this thread. I am experimenting with using SD w/Jellyfin (opensource) for recording and having MCEBuddy post-process and move into Plex library…

This solution is Rube Goldbergish to say the least, but I have good guide data and less stress as I try to record the shows that my family want to watch.

Based on the info here, if this is a long-term solution it may make sense to pay Lifetime with Emby and set up the same thing.

You could do the same with NextPVR, a piece of software specifically developed for recording TV. SD also works there.

I’m done with this BS. Schedule update came in, and aborted my workaround to record what I wanted—and didn’t even record what it should have.

Pathetic train wreck.

Drama UK, The Bill. Episode numbers off.
Plex shows The Bill - The Screw - Part One (S21 E81)
Drama guide shows Series 21 | Episode 82 The Screw - Part One

Thank you - yes most are out by 1 and a few wrong season/episode

I have referred it to our provider
