New EPG and release

My EPG only gets to 4% downloading so a different issue but I am looking to replace with XML can anyone chime in if they are or have gone the same route? I just want it to work!

Just done a full refresh of the guide

ITV, ITV2, Really, Yesterday, ITV2+1, 5Star, 5Spike, ITV+1, Paramount, 5Select are all missing data

BBC & Channel 4 seem to have less than 24 hours data

This is turning it a total disaster, Have Plex given up, not seen any updates from them for a while

I was told by @cire12 that the UK main 5 region’s would’ve had a new EPG by Thursday at 5pm BST, but over 36 hours have passed by and nothing. I’ve readded the DVR last night to see if there were any updates, but alas another let down and moaning remote users.
Here’s to seeing if we get a explanation soon to what’s the hold up??

It would be very helpful to get a response from Plex on this? This is not good if it is like this on 1st July when everyone has to move to The Powered by Plex EPG

In my case (in Sweden), most channels seem OK but I get the TV Guide for 014 Fox Germany instead of 014 Fox Sweden. This is using the Comhem Sweden Digital lineup. I reported this through the form as well.

Some shows I had marked to be recorded didn’t match up with the shows in the new EPG so I had to add them again. And some shows don’t seem to match up with what is already in my library so the DVR is currently busy recording episodes I already have, despite the fact that they have the correct season and episode numbers both in the guide and in the existing library.

Do you get lots of blanks in the Swedish EPG?

This is the first page of mine for Monday (after a refresh), and anyone any idea of what the random dates mean?

I haven’t noticed any blanks yet. On the other hand I only have 8 unencrypted channels. Unfortunately everything else is encrypted, both cable and OTA, and I haven’t found any hardware that supports decryption other than the actual cable TV boxes.

I think this is the problem, the random dates that you have, well done for them being shown correctly for the UK, dd/mm/yy :), looks to be the issue.
The dates being shown should be for the broadcast date or earlier if they are repeats, no reason at all for future dates to be shown.

Thanks for the feedback. I have noticed this myself and has been referred to our team. There appears to be an issue with overlapping entries - possibly old entries not being expired

These things should be picked up in testing

The developers know what we had before, compare it to what we have now, it’s getting beyond ridiculous

Stop just relying on users to tell you whats missing, get some internal beta testing done

Well not sure what is going on here, but my wife will sure be pissed off if we miss Monday’s General Hospital recording. Located in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada - using Over the air DVR.

The Recording window shows this.

which shows the episode on Monday being missed. Friday was Episode 63 per the general hospital web site. If I click on Tuesday’s recording it shows this.

which is kinda odd since e64 should be MOnday’s episode. So I looked into the log files and found this.

Which seems to indicate it will be recording on MONDAY from 2-3 which is proper, but it’s not show in the UI, and in the UI it’s showing this recording occurring on Tuesday instead??

And it’s not like I have conflicts and too few devices - we run 3 HD Home Run - basically more than needed - but can deal with one failing on me. Having run a 4 tuner Tivo setup there are a few times 5 were needed for special sports etc.

HOPING someone can figure out what the heck is going wrong. But overall it was not a bad transition. A number of shows I had to remove/readd to get them to record or indicate they were being recorded - which means somehow the show matching is a bit off. I though guides/shows were always by some sort of unique number assigned to each show etc. But possibly via title it seems, since I had to reset all my FIFA stuff. Old guide said ‘2019 Fifa…’ while new one just says ‘Fifa …’ and was not recording anymore.

That is not the new EPG but the Gracenote one which is coming to an end this weekend

It could have been transient issue.

If you delete the DVR and recreate it, you will be switched to the new EPG

could you get me the full logs covering that period - did you save all 6 log files or download the logs zip ?

Also could you get me zip of the database - you can send that by Private Message
To get the database, exit Plex Media Server and then copy out the files and zip them

The files would be in the Plug-in Support\Databases folder with filenames starting with tv.plex.providers.epg - there should be 3 files - .db, .shm and .wal
Please copy all 3 out and zip the copy
And the logs zip please

After you get the database files and logs, you could try a full guide refresh and see if that makes a difference

I thought it was just me and my setup, but thankfully now it’s not an isolated issue. Also, what’s happening with the EPG guides that were supposed to updated for the UK on Thursday for the UK? It’s not looking good at the minute with an the wrong data etc, and missing channels.

US user here, OTA, other than some show descriptions being wrong, it is assigning “new” to way a lot more shows that are obviously not new, like Match Game from the 1970s.

Also seems to be having some PBS issues with naming. Jay’s Chicago was named Chicago PD.

Finally some more obscure shows seem to be missing art.

@mbcplexserver I tried the new EPG and it was such a mess I reported all the problems I had, then switched to using zap2it via zap2xml until I see more positive feedback here. There isn’t any video information however, all shows are listed as SD even through they are HD. I am in the USA.

I’ll try and do this later tonight/early in the morning - I will have all the logs you want, since I have it set pretty high in terms of log file count!

I actually already did a full refresh of the guide – didn’t make any difference so far.
