I have looked at the EPG schedules for these channels for next 14 days and the only TBAs and Generic program entries I found were these
I found only 30 minutes on Science (950) between 31 July and 2 August.
Could you give me a few specific invalid place holders that i can check out and see if they will be fixed in our 28th July data ingestion
I can see that the schedule is not the same as what is on Adult Swim Schedule
This has been referred to our provider.
Look at the Aug 3 adult swim nightly lineup. Then compare to what plex has. Every plex listing has air date of that day and a generic description. Nearly every listing is incorrect. A few of the correct spots are humorous, because the âfakeâ schedule your provider puts up just happens to match an airing of a show thatâs not very often aired.
Look at smithsonion channel. Aerial America is airing out the wazoo, every episodes date saying that day and all having generic description. Always sequenced.
Disney channel says duck tales is airing on sat/sun early morning. It does not air on that channel anymore. Generic date and description. Always sequenced.
VH1 (869) is airing loads of âchappelleâs showâ, all have the days date and generic description. Other sources show every single episode has full s/e data included.
Ingestion of the 28th July data completed and cache should have cleared (about 30 minutes ago) - an EPG full refresh will pick the update.
While my recording schedule did decrease from multiple hundreds of unlabeled programs to record over the next two weeks the schedule is still peppered with inaccuracies. Friday night, saturday night, and sunday night all have at least several incorrect spots.
Friday night: incorrect marathon shown.
Saturday night: missing family guy, paranoia agent instead of jo jo
sunday night: missing home movies and several other mix ups.
Zip code 03053, USA, Comcast Londonderry Digital, channel 931 is now the DABL network. My set up does not show this network as an available option. Can you fix?
Tuesday nightâs show ended up recording, but Wednesday nightâs show did not record, and Thursday nightâs show is not on the DVR schedule to be recorded.
I have been refreshing the guide every afternoon, but no luck.
An ingestion of our provider EPG data for 30th July completed earlier today and cache would have cleared about an hour ago. An EPG refresh after that would pick the updates

I filled out the form on most of these and nothing has changed. The list below are just the channels Iâve noticed. Located at 80020 (Denver, CO):
2.3 is COMET not THIS
4.2 is STARTTV not DECADES (but the schedule seems to be right)
4.3 is DABL not ION
7.2 is MYSTERY not TV Azteca
9.5 and 9.6 have no entry they are Quest and circle respectively
10.2 is another âthisâ channel, not KBSL weather
20.2 is now H&I not this but the schedule is the same
25.4 is NBCLX not IONShop
Are there additional actions I need to take to get this fixed?

Once again, most shows in my lineup show up as being from 2020.
This is using âComhem Sweden Digitalâ, and unfortunately it means that (1) Iâve missed recording numerous episodes because Plex doesnât think âtv-show (2020)â is the same as âtv-show (2012)â which I have actually subscribed to, and (2) even if I manually switch to recording the show with the wrong year, I will have to manually fix a lot of duplicate recordings since it wonât realize which episodes are already there.
This is reported using the form, but I havenât seen it in the EPG error spreadsheet.

WTF is going on with guide right now? Every night this week AND next week on cartoon network is a 10hr30min âwe bare bearsâ episode from 18:30 to 05:00.
Also sequencing data for Amphibia S02 on disney (847) is completely fubar.
I honestly donât understand how any of these errors pass even the simplest of validity checks. Two episodes with completely different episode tiles should never be given the same SxxExx. Ever.
My guess is there isnât an actual validity check in the part of Plex, because the channel provider is supposed to be sending accurate data.
The bigger question for me is how in the world does Plex screw up channel provider data while competitors like Gracenote have it right? That makes me think itâs almost never the channel provider that is at fault. Boggles the mind that Plex gets this stuff wrong on a weekly basis now days.
If there was a validity check it seems like it could almost be a simple as âdoes this match the sourceâ.
Honestly, if anybody at this point presumes that the data of the provide is valid, complete and accurate beyond personal and professional experience, that person must surely neglecting reality.
My personal experience⊠I pay for a 3rd party DVR service which actually works highly accurate after months and months of having trouble with Plex DVR service which include
(a) channel lineup inaccurate
(b) nonsense or missing info for complete channels or individual EPG items
(c) thumbnail generation errors (incl. Transcoder exe crashing) for episodes recorded with Plex [ending up with disabling error notification message from Windows - but without a solution for the crashes]
(d) Comskip errors with commercial cutting
(e) multiple recodings stopping permaturely without any known reason

Since most of this about upgrade backend services, we do not get notified about this in release notes, but according to my personal experiences, this is just another dead end initiative. The thread is closed and long forgotten.
Being a global EPG provider is a mammuth task and it would be much more accurate if you would have groups of concurring regional providers (people could choose which one to use) and contracts which offer contractual penalties for inaccuracy above a certain level. @sa2000 is doing a fantastic job here, but in my humble opinion heâs acting like Mr. FixIt on a flawed structure (again, good job @sa2000 ).
I am running my own Plex DVR only as a backup in case thereâs a glitch in one of my paid provider recordings.
Of these 100 examples - can you identify ones that were before in the EPG with a different year than 2020 and now 2020 ? You mentioned a TV show was 2012 before - was that in the EPG or in your TV library ? I need to have an example where it changed year for the show in the EPG
(Earlier this year we stopped matching recordings to thetvdb as that was leading to loss of recordings or having repeated recordings of episodes and the advice to get full benefit of that change was to have separate recording libraries from the normal TV Shows / Movies libraries.
