A lot of generic blocks!?!?!?!?!?! So flipping what!!! Itâs still a #%#@ ten hour block! So if I want to record ANYTHING on cartoon network for the next two weeks I have to record a ten hour chunk and then cut out the fifteen minutes I want?
The fact that this type of BS is ok and problems ongoing for over a year is pathetic.
One example would be The Simpsons. I used to record âThe Simpsons (1989)â and now itâs âThe Simpsons (2020)â.
I also have my own system for keeping track of shows I have already decided not to record, and if I auto-compare the current TV guide with this, I get the following 340 results. Some of the differences could be actual corrections but most of them (with the current year 2020) are certainly completely wrong.
For these entries Plex has had correct information before. I canât definitely guarantee that all of them were correct in the recent guide, as some of my data is from before the change of providers, but many of them were definitely correct a couple of months ago. (If you give me a desired cut-off date, I can probably use version control to find the shows that I marked as ânot interestingâ in my system after that date, and give you a list of the shows where the correct year has definitely been âlostâ after the date you specify.)

I have acknowledged before that combo airings (merged multiple episodes) cause us an issue as the sequencing for combos is different from episode sequencing but uses the same range of sequence numbers as non combo airings and we have asked our provider to split combo airings as we have no concept of combo sequencing

I can see that the data for the channels for your Sweden lineup (the channel numbers you provided before) only have a show start year for 3 programs on BBC World News - no other programs have it and would default to 2020 when we ingest the data

This is not the same issue at all. Yes itâs absolutely pathetic that your provider seemingly refuses to break up combo episodes, but itâs the fact they sequence shows with completely different episodes as the same episode.

The existing schedule has the 1 hour episode at 10 PM Eastern. But the episode is 2 hours (or two 1 hour long episodes are back to back) according to the ABC network web site, and the first episode is at 9 PM Eastern.
For the show âThe 100â via OTA in the New York City area the episode number should be 11 not 10.

And as usual, EPGs using Gracenote have it correct meaning the error most likely isnât due to a typo from the broadcaster.

I have referred this to our provider to check. I am unable to verify with the CW own web pages for the TV Schedule as these web pages are not available outside the US. I did come across schedule here The CW - TV Listings Guide which is the same as what our EPG has - so my request to our provider is to verify what it should be and correct if wrong

This error is the other way round - E10 should be E11 so when corrected there will be one episode number gap rather than number that already exists

Plex combines them into one and does not offer the âSplitâ option, so I have to go manually rename and rescan.
Iâve said it before, but the quality on the ingest of EPG data is absolute rubbish, which translates to Plex DVR being less than what it should be and given the last 1,645 postâs about the quality and my third post for the same channel/show, leaves one to question of whoâs running the asylum. .
So I go to put on my local NBA team game on my (actual) tivo and it didnât record giving a black screen. No fears, I recorded this in plex too I say. I cross my fingers and see if the channel will actually offer to start the game from the beginning for me AND IT DOES!!! SCORE Plex. BUT itâs not the damn game. Itâs some outdoor hiking BS. Infuriated since according to plex and the tivo the game is almost over I check a grace note guide source. Guess what, the game is on a totally different channel at a totally different time. Thankfully I only missed half of the first quarter, but you know what F*** this S***. Tivo/Rovi as a guide data source is the most pathetically braindead BS I have tried to put up with for over a year now.
