New EPG and release

In addition to the previously mentioned problem with TV shows on Swedish channels showing up as “(2020)”, we also have problems with missing metadata where there are no movie summaries and where generic posters show up instead of the “real” ones.

This has previously been the case for about half of all movies (so I have to fix them semi-manually after recording) but now it seems to happen for almost all movies:

It also happens for many TV shows.

Thanks - I have added the info to the open issue and asked for an update

None of the episodes of The Andy Griffith Show on channel 62.1 (WYCW) have season/episode information or episode descriptions; for the episode descriptions, it shows the series synopsis. The episodes currently air at 7:00 PM and 7:30 PM EDT. My lineup is: Broadcast TV Grnvll-Spart-Ashvll OTA Broadcast.

Here’s a link to the station’s schedule, if it helps:

Their official schedule doesn’t have that information either.

However, the Channels DVR does show the episode information.

Yep I noticed that, for their public schedule at least, they don’t show season/episode information. However, the public schedule doesn’t show that information for some other shows either, and for which Plex does have it:

So, the season/episode is being pulled from somewhere. My hope is that that same somewhere can be used for the Plex EPG data for The Andy Griffith Show as well. And, as you mention, it’s obviously available since other data sources have it.

hell id be happy if i could get the zap2it data as it appears the external website they used is dead

Zap2it uses Gracenote.

Just wondering if you’ve heard anything about these changes. Still appear to have not been corrected.

Nothing yet. Last I heard was that they were working on it

I have asked for an update

The 8/22/20—Game 3: Los Angeles Lakers vs. Portland Trail Blazers game is incorrectly listed as 7:30 pm instead of 4:30 pm on ABC (channel 2.1) Fairbanks OTA zip 99705.

I need the station program screenshot to show the correct time and url so i can submit it as an error. Doing a google search - gave same program times as we have in the EPG with 4:30 pm showing as Paid Programming and 7:30 as the game

I’m not sure where the station has their official lineup. Zap to is has correct info:

So, for me, the NBA playoffs discrepancy is that Plex for some reason wants to record an airing at 5pm on NBATV (917) instead of the actual live recording on 808 at 2:30pm. Why in the world would it prioritize a later recording? That is utter nonsense.

would need to see debug server logs showing what the scheduler did

Is it the Los Angeles Clippers vs Dallas Mavericks game?

They do look identical on the 2 channels. Cannot say why the later one was selected and if there were any potential clashes - logs would help. If you refresh the guide - we would go through the schedules again and i can see in the logs what airings were picked up

I’ll refresh guide while I’m walkin the dog. I’ve already done it once today when I noticed for a sanity check, but it didn’t change airings.

Yes, clippers vs Mavs. I just dm’d you the logs. It would appear from looking at them that the 14:30 game on 808 is actually scheduled to record, but, it does not show up on the schedule, instead the 17:00 game on 917 does–even though it doesn’t appear to be scheduled.

Is this true on other client apps as well when viewing the DVR schedule ? We do have a Plex Web fix being worked for an issue where the wrong airing got displayed when there were multiple airings

AndroidTV app does show the correct scheduled recording. I just never go there because it’s a usability nightmare with hundreds of past recordings.

We do have a Plex Web bug where when there are several airings the wrong one may get displayed in the schedule. This came to light when testing the latest Plex Media Server fixes for Limit to Airing Time recordings
