New Plex Guide Very Poor in UK

cheers.

This has worked for me. Thanks @sa2000 for looking into it.

So I’ve done a full guide refresh and seem to have data OK but only one out of the three programme series I’ve set to record are showing in DVR schedule, despite there being upcoming episodes that are labelled as new. Had been working OK the last couple of weeks too. Do I need to now cancel and recreate these series linked recordings?!

I believe so, yes. I had to do the same thing.

Ah OK - have recreated it now, just as well I don’t have too many recordings, would be quite a pain otherwise!

Did the channel numbers change for you after the updates ? We were aware of the need to recreate the schedules if the channel numbers changed due to the loss of the suffix ā€œ-xā€ on some lineups. I was not expecting the need to do that for others.

I had to re-create mine also
No changes to the channel they air on

I had Misommer Murders, Vera, Agatha Christie’s Poirot & Agatha Christie’s Marple all set to record new/repeat (airings where on 010 ITV3)

Noticed after the maintenance that these shows had lost the indicator in the guide showing a series recording was set, deleted the schedules and re added them, this brought the indicators back into the guide and recordings started again for these (though i dont get many recordings as i already have most episodes)

No changes - one was on BBC 2, the other on C5 HD.

I had lost pretty much all of my main channel listing data from Friday onwards this week so attempted to switch from the Freeview National OTA to my local guide instead but I’m not able to get listings for Channel 4. My only options appear to be ā€œThat’s Humberā€ and a couple of other channels nowhere near me. Could Channel 4 listings be added to the Wales OTA lineup for position 7 please? See screenshot…

Hi @sa2000. I have noticed error in the guide for a particular show that must have been introduced within the last week or so. World on Fire is a series that airs on BBC1 in the UK every Sunday night. Although the guide currently suggests that it is S1-E4 on this Sunday night, it should actually be S1-E5. As S1-E4 was recorded last week and may still be in the Media Library for many users, this means that the upcoming episode will not be recorded despite it being marked as ā€˜New’.

I’m on Freesat South.

Issue with Travel Man: 48 Hours in… on Channel 4:

  • series 10 episode 1 (Dubrovnik) was broadcast on MON 21 OCT: it did record but was mapped to an old series (can’t remember which)
  • episode 2 is scheduled for MON 28 OCT (Bergen)
  • Plex EPG shows episode 2 as S07E05:

Also, why is Joe Lycett appearing in the cast list?

Checking on IMDB, he will appear in season 11 episode 1, i.e. next year’s programme:

Plex did record the program but filed it with this name:
Crime and Punishment (2019) - 2019-10-21 13 00 00 - Crime and Punishment.ts

Has something changed?

For some reason some shows I have scheduled to record are no longer showing any upcoming airings when I can see the next air date in the guide.

For example Question Time and Brexitcast on tomorrow night on BBC1, I had to set them to record new episodes again which then put a second entry in the recording priority sidebar and I deleted the original,

Just to add a ā€˜me too’ - I had to recreate all my schedules yesterday (and delete the others).

As an aside, this causes issues where the show isn’t currently being aired, but the schedule is left for when a new series starts. I can’t seem to create a schedule for a TV show (or film) that I know the name of, but not when it will be on.

There was a maintenance outage the other day to do some things to the EPG which may have resulted in you needing to cancel/re-add some scheduled recordings and/or even delete/recreate your DVR (as some channels may have changed)

[edit: typos]

Thank you @JCHH

no worries. Thinking about it, you would only have known about this if you happened to be on the forums for the couple of days leading up to the maintenance window.

…Plex should have emailed this info to Plex Pass users as I imagine the majority don’t visit the forums (frequently or otherwise).

I’m finding my recreated schedules are working OK but removal of advertisements is no longer working - it used to be very reliable. I’ve double-checked and my new scheduled recordings definitely have removal selected. Anyone else seen this or aware of issues in this regard?

removal of advertisements never worked for me (I am in the UK) so have not used it in ages.

Interesting, it used to work totally reliably for me until about a week ago - not sure what’s broken it.
