New Plex Guide Very Poor in UK

Yeah - I’ve noticed it does seem to be a bit hit and miss with your own libraries. Quite often I get “No Results” when searching by either actor or movie title :frowning:

It also doesn’t help that the search appears to a) limit the results to 3 per category and b) not sort the results - if it does I can’t work out what the sort order is!

agh, so maybe that is what is really happening - it’s cutting off after 3 (finding but not displaying) rather than not finding it at all. …so we need to request a “more” button in search results as well as sorting the results as you mentioned??

might not be quite what you are after, but hitting enter after entering search terms should bring up the complete list

Oh, great - thanks for pointing that out :+1:

I have 23 results, and they are in a horizontal scroll (would prefer them to soft-return to the page width, but that’s minor).

Yes it does work for movies in the library

For Live TV & DVR - we have now added ingestion of Genres.

The addition of Actors / Directors etc is in the queue of functionality / data to be added. I do not have any information to share as to when and how soon - but I can say that it is on the list - just like Genre and Sport Teams were and now implemented

Can we have the genre changed from Soccer to Football (quite a few shows with this)

As an example

I will take your input and discuss internally and with our provider.

Yes I am aware of that

would love to see these cryptic codes for channels removed, as you say they are meaningless, think it was asked before and they cant be hidden

might try it out on the family and see what they think
“what are you going to watch at Christmas on B1T”

Are you referring to this?

I know I have selected HD (101, not 001), but I am not seeing what I think you guys are seeing. I’m Median/central…

agh, yes I have that too - sorry for the confusion there.

And the details of ‘Football Focus’

Analysis of Soccer :frowning:

I believe there are a few oddities in the guide data for channel 91 PBS America and discrepancies between Freeview’s guide and Plex’s:

  • Freeview believes the channel is online between 13:00 and 23:00 whilst Plex shows programs starting at 08:00.
  • Plex shows teleshopping when the channel is offline - I tried tuning into the channel during the early hours this morning and couldn’t tune to it.
  • The Pearl Harbor: Into the darkness documentaries seem to be identified as the 2001 movie staring Ben Affleck.

As I mentioned above I’ve always found it a bit hit and miss:

Actor Search Not Working

Until today I couldn’t understand why, but this evening I noticed that when I’m viewing Live TV & DVR → Movies it behaves differently. I went through all the other filters: Channels, Live TV & DVR, News, Shows and Sports and the search works as we currently expect.

Is this intended behaviour, a known bug or have I found a new issue in PMP?

I can’t find errors in the schedule. I checked it using the London Freeview OTA Lineup and I compared Monday 9th and Tuesday 10th schedules

The following agrees with the UK schedule for PBS America I am seeing here
Schedule | PBS America | UK and
Schedule | PBS America | UK

and I just checked what is broadcasting now and it agrees with what is in the schedule for 8th December Schedule | PBS America | UK

Freeview info here may be is not correct
https://www.freeview.co.uk/20-nov-2019-changes-freeview-channel-quest-red-together-tv-pbs-america-now-80s

Also I searched the 12 day schedule for this “Pearl Harbor: Into the darkness” and I cannot find it, Can you give me date / time and confirm you are referring to PBS America on 91

I am not going to spend time looking into PMP issues. If you have a problem using Plex Web or the new Plex Desktop app for Windows and Mac, please give me the exact steps and outcomes you are getting and what you are expecting

I notice that library results can be seen if you hit the Enter key after you enter the search pattern

I have raised this for the development / product team to consider. It varies from region to region - eg in the USA - It may be necessary to add the callSigns

It’s still a bag of washing.

I’m in the Midlands of the UK but for some reason I’ve become a citizen of Cambridgeshire, Scotland, Wales and whoever knows where else. If I tune to BBC West Midlands (from Sutton Coldfield I get nothing. No lock. My local line-of-sight transmitter is Sutton Coldfield. I can see the channels but the EPG mangles it. I don’t care about an EPG - it it’s broke, just let me access my tuner.

Maybe Plex knows more about where I live than I do…

This really needs fixing and seems to have been an issue for a while. I was even going to get a new tuner thinking that it was to do with the Hauppague tuner I have.

What lineup is used in DVR Setup? You can see the name of the lineup at the top of the server DVR & Live TV Setting page

And with this being a Hauppauge tuner, what option did you select when scanning for channels - with all the frequency changes in the UK for 5G clearance, the Full UK Range frequency set should be used - as the specific transmitters frequency lists have not had the changes to the frequencies.

And could you please expand on what you mean by Cambridgeshore, Wales, Scotland - may be you are using the national lineup and different channels got auto mapped - the National lineup is not recommended to be used and if used, each channel needs to be individually selected and mapped as for each channel eg BBC1 or ITV there are manu regional channels to pick from

Something has gone wrong with episode numbering on Grace’s Amazing Machines on CBeebies and CBeebies HD. There are 20 episodes in the current season but the guide data has episodes 20+ which are all repeats of episodes 1-20. Can this be corrected please? Thanks.
