New Plex Guide Very Poor in UK

Thank you. I can see the numbers being wrong. I will report it to our provider

Interesting

I don’t know if it makes any difference but I’m using the “Freeview Central (West) OTA Broadcast” line-up.

The information there certainly tallies up with what I am seeing if I try and tune to channel 91 after 23:00:

  • PBS America has changed how it is broadcast. There will be an increase in coverage for this channel and it will now be broadcast between 13:00 and 23:00

Can anyone else tune to the channel after 23:00 or before 13:00 ?

I’m not sure where I got the “Into the darkness” suffix from as the data on the PBS website shows it as “Pearl Harbor: Into the Arizona” - maybe one eye was looking at the PBS listing and the other was looking at something completely different :frowning:

Either way it shouldn’t have been the 2001 movie

I also noticed from the screenshot in my previous post that Channel 084 - Now 90s has a 24 hour block of “Now 90s Programming”:

Now 90s - 24 hour block

I have reported this to our provider. Also Now Xmas on 83.

Lovely - thank you.

Although I won’t be tuning into Now Xmas (Bah Humbug!) :stuck_out_tongue:

‘Martin’s Close’ - 24th Dec: Christmas Eve - BBC Four is showing as the film ‘The Martins’ and is only allowing recording to my Movies when it is a TV show.

Please can this be corrected?

Plex Guide:

Freeview:

I have referred this to our provider. It appears that the two got combined !

These have been corrected. A guide refresh would pick the adjustments

The linkage with “The Martins” has been removed now. An EPG refresh will get the update. I have flagged to our provider that there is no poster.

It remains to be set as a movie and I have flagged that as well

I have done a full EPG refresh and still the same.

That screenshot shows 93% refresh complete - did you check after it completed?

Yes
that was the third EPG refresh, just to get the screenshot.

However, I have just checked this morning and now the poster and synopsis have gone.

Do we know when I am going to be able to set it to TV? Don’t really want this in my movie collection!!

Our provider is following the poster issue.

The synopsis text for this specific case is down to us not picking up some of the text and I have an issue raised for our team to look into

With regards to TV or Movie, I am having a discussion with our provider on that.

STV HD - 6pm tonight - not Celebrity Chase, but supposed to be Celebrity Catchphrase - I suppose I’ll try recording “Celebrity Chase” and hope Catchphrase tapes as scheduled in guides EVERYWHERE ELSE or risk the wrath of my family again over my decision to entrust our OTA recording to the all year round turkey that is Plex DVR

And why does it take an eternity to refresh the guide? When my Digiguide on the PC does an update it performs it in a matter of seconds - and there’s a lot more individual programme information in that.

As well as being mostly accurate.

Do you have enhanced guide option enabled ? That Increases time significantly

I do have the “enhanced” guide switched on - although I cannot see what is supposedly “enhanced” about it - a lot of shows have one line of info and even that can be quite generic.

Example, from Digiguide - vastly more enhanced than the Plex guide and updates in seconds:

"COOKERY: Food Unwrapped
On: Channel 4 HD (227)
Date: Sunday 22nd December 2019 (starting in 7 minutes)
Time: 17:15 to 18:15 (1 hour long)

Cracking Christmas Guide.
Jimmy Doherty, Kate Quilton, Matt Tebbutt and Helen Lawal present tips on how to feed family and friends better, cheaper and faster at Christmas. They test three novel turkey-cooking methods against the clock - including deep-frying a whole bird - and share time-saving tips for preparing parsnips. They explore whether champagne is worth its hefty price tag, investigate whether digestif drinks really do help after a big meal and explore the psychology of why people cannot stop dipping into the chocolate box.

and here is what Plex guide tells me in “enhanced” mode:

"Food Unwapped s17 e8 - Cracking Christmas Guide

Science series Food Unwrapped explores how our food is really made and the industry secrets behind our favourite produce."

So if I turn the “enhanced” guide off it will update quicker but will have even LESS info?!

Forgive me if I am not overly stunned by this.

Digiguide is and always has been superb. Agree about how rapidly it updates too. Really wish Plex could work with them to make use of their service rather than the existing provider.

can it provide an xml feed?

You could possibly grab it with webgrabplus, at least it is their list of “providers”

The website looks like it hasn’t been touched since the 90’s. This is definitely legit and maintained?
