New Plex Guide Very Poor in UK

It looks like the TBA shows from 5, 5 + 1 and 5 HD have been resolved now, however, I have just seen that there are 11 results over the next week, each 60 minutes long - on 5Star (Channel 030) and 5Select (Channel 054), if I search for TBA in Plex for Windows.

Could you pass these anomalies onto “the provider” as well please?

try to use sky q and it replaces all tv channels with radio stations and everyone must be manually assigned, i pay for my plex pass monthly to offer constant income for yourselves and feel i am being robbed now… RETURN TO GRACENOTE

why are radio listings included in the skyq NW england… (yes i know my numbers on the left are incorrect i am just demonstrating the problem) it defaults lets say channel 1 to 5 to radio stations and its really annoying me now, it has been months…

Channel 203 - CITV missing listings

It is now showing “Unknown Airing” for all of today and “off air” from tomorrow.

please can you get this fixed

Channels that were incorrectly removed are now back in place with the last channel 89 (Together TV+1) coming back today. 93 (PBS America +1) came back end of June and the others before that.

With this and recent multiplexor freeview changes, it is necessary to retune / rescan channels and also re-enable within DVR Settings enabled channels setup view any channels that may got dropped in the last 2 weeks.

The recent changes are outlined here

Thanks for flagging this. I have referred this to our provider.

From what i can see here http://downloads.bbc.co.uk/reception/pdfs/skychannels.pdf and here Sky channel list (UK EPG) > RXTV info these are valid channel numbers.

It appears that a zero prefix gets included for radio channel numbers

So 101 is BBC 1 TV and 0101 is BBC Radio 1

Our implementation of channel numbers does not distinguish between the two and both get seen as 101

We do have some fuzzy matching and sometimes the matching may pick the wrong one

These have been referred to our provider

the matchine 99 percent of the time picks the radio channels, remove the radio channels?

Not as simple as that - there are users that want radio channels.

Also identifying Radio channels is not straightforward. If and when we can identify radio channels, then one can consider having a user DVR setup option for their exclusion.

There may also be other options to improve on how the fuzzy matching is done in the event of different channels using the same channel number.

i cant imagine a great many people wanting radia stations replacing tv stations in all honesty… either make a seperate option or fix the identification? its just really frustrating… gracenote EPG was so much better!

Plex doesn’t seem to be able to record both the Austrian Grand Prix Qualifying Highlights and the Race Highlights on Channel 4. It’s picking them both up as the same “Episode” because the metadata lists the titles for both as ‘Series: 2020 Formula 1 World Championship Highlights’ and ‘Episode: Austrian Grand Prix’. I’ve tried renaming the existing recording of the qualifying highlights to have the episode name “Austrian Grand Prix Qualifying”, but the DVR schedule still doesn’t show the Race Highlights as scheduled. And even if it had, I actually set the race to record so if I hadn’t noticed it would have just gone ahead and skipped the race highlights either way.

Edit: Forgot to say, this is with “Freeview-National Lineup United Kingdom OTA Broadcast” listings

I can see the issue with it being as you explained - both airings the Qualifying and Highlights have the same episode identifier

I have referred this to our provider

PS: I do not recommend using the National lineup - any reason why you are still using it? Are there any missing channels in your regional lineup?

(If you do change lineups, you would need to recreate the recording schedule)

To get around this for now, I had to delete the qualifying once I had watched it and set It to ‘New and Repeat Airings’. Not ideal but at least it’s now scheduled to record.

Fully understand not wanting to fill up a library with duplicate episodes (especially with New and Repeat Airings selected).

In this case, an Advanced option to override and record the episode anyway (creating a (copy 1) file) would be useful, while we awaited for a fix.

I don’t recall why I picked the National Lineup to be honest, it just matched the service available and all the channels I wanted the schedule for were available to match against. To change it, would I need to “Delete DVR” in Settings>Live TV & DVR?

Is there a particular advantage to using a different lineup? I only set up the DVR this week, but so far the only problem I’ve had is that issue with the F1 Episode IDs.

Turned out to be an issue at our end. This was fixed last night. Please do a Guide refresh to pick up the correct schedule data

Early on Plex Media Server was giving the national lineup a higher score and picked up as the default lineup. That was when the regional lineups had gaps in them with some channels missing. This was fixed a long time ago last year and so now the default matching when creating a DVR should be picking the regional lineup

Deleting the DVR and re-creating it should fix the problem. See what it picks as lineup after it checks all lineups

The national lineup has all the multiple regional channels and the order they appear in is not guaranteed and you may match the wrong channels sometimes.

After you switch to the correct regional lineup for your post code - you will need to recreate the scheduled recordings as the channel numbers will change and there should no longer be suffixed channel numbers eg 001-12 which get put in because of the duplicates

Thanks for the info, would be nice to get the cleaner Logical Channel Numbers so as I’ve got some time on Wednesday so I’ll rebuild it then & report back if there’s anything wrong with the regional listings.

Back on the F1, they appear to have created a Qualifying Highlights event ahead of this weekend’s Grand Prix…But this time they’ve scheduled that on both Saturday and Sunday instead of that on Saturday and the Race Highlights on Sunday.

Compared to the listings from Channel 4 themselves:

(The “Steiermark Grand Prix” and “Styrian Grand Prix” difference is fine, Channel 4 are just using the English name for the location)

The good news is this appears to still be in better shape than the previous Grand Prix as it’s picked up both recordings so they do seem to have different episode IDs, but obviously the Race highlights shouldn’t be billed as Qualifying highlights. It seems like it should just be one series and each package should be listed as “Race” or “Qualifying” at the episode level, or at least one series for the race and one for the qualifying (preferably the former though).

This was fixed in time - shows correctly after afternoon EPG refresh on the 30th of June
