Let me tell you what I am not OK with - this constant micro managing of the Plex DVR becuase the guide is NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE.

“real complaints” indeed - although you seem to be the sole whack-a-moler, perhaps it’s your overlords that you want to be making a “real complaint” to.

I’m sorry, but your reply just takes the biscuit. Will be looking into Emby I think, I’ll just write off the money I’ve wasted on this Plex Pass service

I can’t see the problem - i went back to Saturday EPG snapshot as well and can’t see an error

This is what the EPG has for Wednesday 15th for BBC1 and BBC2 for Match of the Day

The two snapshots show the same EPG data

and if i compare these with the BBC1 and BBC2 schedules - they do match in terms of programs

Well it was wrong. edit: go back to Friday when obviously the guide I was using hadn’t been forced refreshed on the Saturday to make it look as if it was all right all along. Freeview “DVR—Freeview STV Central OTA Broadcast”

Did you check that? We know how cumbersome the regions are for your guide provider.

edit: Should have taken a screenshot, but that’s just one more annoyance now it seems I have to PROVE the failings LMAO

There are no regional channel 4 stations (leaving aside the welsh channel !) - so it would be the same channel regardless of which lineup

For 2 - BBC2 it is the same channel data for both London lineup and STV Central scotland lineup

For 1 - BBC1 the stations are different and I have BBC 1 snapshot from the 11th July for your lineup and it is the same EPG data as i pasted above for Match of the Day on BBC1 for 15 July

If you spot an error - best to do an EPG refresh then and see if the error is still there. Of course it is possible that there is some issue with the refreshes and to investigate I would need server debug logs

Still have Politics England on BBC1 Scotland HD for this Sunday as well.

I am fed up manually refreshing the guide - it is JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

I have no idea why Plex think this is anywhere near acceptable?!

edit: Channel 4 DO split into regions for advertising, so even though the programming is the same, technically it is not the same channel here in Scotland.

OK, even though I have work to get on with, I thought seeing as you were around I would do a manual refresh of the guide and take a quick look


13/07/20 BBC2 HD 23:30-01:00 - Should be “Live Aid” - so that’s TWO HOURS from now and the guide is wrong - all programming afterwards is at the wrong time and some are the wrong programmes until 06:30
14/07/20 STV HD 01:25-03:00 - Should be “ITV Nightscreen”
14/07/20 BBC2 HD 23:30 onwards all night until 06:00 - all wrong

Most days = BBC1 SCOTLAND HD - “Local News” instead of “Reporting Scotland” STV HD - “ITV News London” instead of “STV News”

I gave up then, surely my point is made once again regarding the usefulness of the guide? That was me only looking at tonight and tomorrow night!

Hope this complaint is real enough

All faults for today, 14 July 2020. Full manual refresh this morning.

017 Really: Days’ worth of "Really Programming’
020 Drama: ‘Drama Programming 25/9/19’ at 1100 and several instances of same listing, esp from tomorrow (Wed) onwards
031 Paramount: Knight Rider is shown from 1035-1400, when in fact it’s Knight Rider followed by the Sophia Loren movie The Key (1958)
039 CBS Justice: No guide at all - just one line saying ‘CBS Action Programming 15/10/19’
048 Sony: nothing but ‘True Entertainment Programming 18/10/19’
070 Horror: nothing but ‘Horror Channel Programming 15/10/19’

011 Pick: Guide is showing wrong shows at wrong times, lots of teleshopping and timing out by 30mins even where title is correct

Speaking of real complaints is there any feedback on this, this, this, this or this?

I appreciate some of them have now passed but they should at least be flagged to the provider as proof of errors in the data.

I have just performed a manual refresh and see that today’s Danger Mouse showings still have no episode data and that the following channels have either generic “Programming” or other errors as below:

  • BBC2 (Sunday 00:00 onwards)
  • Channel 4 (Close on Saturday 06:00 to 00:00 and then Channel 4 Programming from Sunday 00:00)
  • BBC Four (Saturday 21:30 to 22:45)
  • ITV3 (Teleshopping on Saturday 03:30 onwards then ITV3 Programming on Sunday 00:00 on)
  • PICK TV (Sunday 00::00 onwards)
  • E4 (Sunday 00:00 onwards)

  • Channel 4+1 (Same as Channel 4 but one hour out as expected)
  • Really (Friday 00:00 onwards - but has some programming on Sunday 00:00)
  • Dave (Saturday 00:00 onwards)
