New Plex Guide Very Poor in UK

Generic programming may get set to arbitrary label.

With regards to TCC this is work in progress. There have been a lot of changes with TCC launching Together TV (89) and Together TV+1 (93) from the old Community Channel and the TCC (77) broadcast hours have got reduced to just 2 hours between 3am and 5am.

Our provider is looking into getting the guide data for TCC. With just 2 hours overnight, I would not class it as an important issue - but it is in hand

I would appreciate (if you have not reported this elsewhere) to tell me which channels and what airing dates/times for the incorrectly identified airings

Here is the first page of upcoming movies - A lot of the ones without meta data are not movies - although there is also a fair few movies here without metadata !
All UK freeview Anglia region

I noticed a similar behaviour of Plex; it looks like the new EPG treats any single-episode TV programme as a film.

An example of what Plex has Vs the correct Freeview guide from Humax box
Humax correctly shows as a news/currant affaires and Plex has it as a film

Must be a great movie - Repeat after repeat !
I try to watch but keep falling asleep as its sooooo long

The new series of Grand Designs on Channel 4 is acting odd, its set to record new episodes only but has recordings scheduled for the Wednesday 9pm showing on C4HD 104, the 10pm showing on 109 C4HD+1 and 02:40am on 4SevenHD 110.

I’ve limited it to record on 104 only to get around the issue but recordings on Channel 4 quite often end up being recorded twice on +1 for some reason.

I get the same issue - it seems like non-series / ‘standalone’ TV programmes such as documentaries are treated as Films. This didn’t used to be the case - they’d be correctly classified as TV Programmes. It’s making a real mess of my library so could this be looked at again please?

Also, series and episode numbering is all over the place. Not that I’m a fan but the series 17 launch show (i.e. episode 1) or strictly come dancing on Saturday night in the UK is showing as Series 16 Episode 26! Makes it a bit useless.

I think the quality of the new guide data is poor to be honest and it’s more than just specific cases to feed back, rather a lack of credibility and trust in the guide metadata now.

Plex - any ideas on how the first can be fixed and the second one improved?

I agree the quality of the Plex TV guide episode data is awful, nearly non-existent in fact.

For example, here’s Plex vs the Freeview online guide which matches up with the built EPG on my TV.

Those are just 2 examples but loads of listings are of the same poor quality.

I now find things I want to watch on my tv and then look on Plex for the specific airing time as you can’t rely on the Plex data to tell you what you are recording.

Grand Designs and Holby City have been adjusted - the changes should feed through over the next 24 hours or so and a full refresh would update the Plex Media Server EPG data

Thank you for your feedback

This is being changed to show as “Off-Air”

Hi - This in fact should be teleshopping according to my Humax guide data

ll

will need to be checked out to see if that is what gets broadcast

Thank you for this and the details of the actual airing times and channels

I have followed this up and it is as mentioned by @JHalliwell . All documentaries are classed as films/movies.

Your feedback is appreciated and understood. There is still work to be done on picking up tags and when that development completes, it may be possible to improve on what is presented currently

This has been corrected and should feed through over next 24 hours or so. An EPG refresh will be needed to pick the change
