You are quoting me out of context. That response was in answer to:
“An EPG is a centrally located database hosted by the EPG owner (such as FreeSat, FreeView, YouView or GraceNote)… how exactly is Plex handling an EPG?” To which I answered: They are not using any of those data providers it seems.
So if that answer isn’t correct, please clarify and correct for the benefit of the original poster and me.
Your posts are now becoming personally rude and trolling in nature, so unless you have any pertinent information or something to add to this thread, please stop attacking me.
Hi all, there’s been an issue with BBC News HD channel for at least few days (no tv guide). Also all the other channels struggle with descriptions (no pictures, no descriptions)
Sky Arts has got added as channel 11 - not sure which day it came in but it is there now. I see that the other changes have not been made and i have referred that to our provider
@sa2000 Thankyou for the update. It has all come in over the last couple of days for me. My tuning went a bit funny one night and by the morning it was all updated and working fine!
It appeared fairly quickly with icon - a day or two after the changes if memory serves me correctly.
I had to map it to “011 PICKTV” until I performed a full retune last weekend, given the various issues I was seeing I thought it was best, where it then appeared as “011 Arts1”
Just an FYI, but I have had data for Pick on Channel 034 for a few days now. For example:
I can see the issue. These are caused by gaps in the schedules which are due to ingestion issues. I have asked our EPG team to schedule a full ingest to correct the data
This is an issue at our end with incremental ingestions and is rectified by doing a full ingest,
The full ingestion has completed and cache should have cleared now. A full EPG refresh now should resolve the “Unknown Airings” (gaps in schedules) issue
Fortunately I’ve managed to change the Bake Off recording time manually on C4 HD tonight before I get my balls booted by having the last 15 minutes missing.
Hopefully with the new guide provider this kind of thing will be updated in plenty of time.
It goes without saying that Digiguide have it updated…
edit: did a manual guide refresh but of course all channels are wrong at 8pm.
Thank you - I’ve performed an EPG refresh and can’t see any “Unknown Airings” on ITV3 or ITV4 for tomorrow now.
I will keep an eye on the other channels as well as the coming days.
Whilst I’m here I also see that “Pearl Harbor” on PBS America which I also reported at the weekend has been updated to “Pearl Harbor - Into the Arizona” - thank you.
If only one of the movie channels would show the 2001 movie
CBBC (Channel 201) and CBBC HD (Channel 204) is currently airing a showing of “Shaun the Sheep” Series 2 around 7:15 and two showings around 11:00 each day for a little while now.
Unfortunately the first showing from Series 4 (Episode 14) got swallowed by the previous programme today:
As you can see, Plex shows:
10:35: Diddy TV - S3 E7
10:55: Shaun the Sheep - S4 E15
Whilst this should have been:
10:35: Diddy TV - S3 E7
10:50: Shaun the Sheep - S4 E14
10:55: Shaun the Sheep - S4 E15
Is this an ingestion problem or a problem with the data provider?
I’m pretty sure (although can’t confirm it now) that this wasn’t a problem for today before last night’s full ingestion / the overnight update.
New Bake Off not marked as “new” on C4 HD next Tuesday 29/09/20 so therefore won’t be taping and I’ll be in danger of being in trouble once again - just like this week when the guide wasn’t updated for the PM speech…
Sunday’s airings of “Would I Lie to You?” on Dave (Channel 019) don’t appear to have been sequenced whilst those for tonight, tomorrow and next week appear to be okay:
Airings of The Bill on Drama on Sunday Morning are showing the wrong season and episode numbers. Due to a PC error at my end I haven’t managed to record any of this weeks episodes Monday-Thursday, so I need to record them all on Sunday.
Between 7:20 and 11:15 Drama are showing Season 22 Episodes 59, 60, 61 and 62.
But Plex is listing 22x59, 5x29, 22x61 and 20x86 in those slots.
Additionally Wednesday’s Midday episode is showing as 22x65 which is actually on on Tuesday so at the moment that’s not showing as recording.
UK Drama channel, The Bill recording at 11:00 all next week incorrectly as should be 12:00. Missed some this week as they went through at 11:00 so it recorded Casualty incorrectly.
I started this post to report an issue on Paramount Network (Channel 031) with the 5 minute “5* Access” intervals being over an hour long on Monday evening and Tuesday morning:
Plex shows the following from Monday 21:00 until Tuesday 11:30:
21:00: Wyatt Earp
22:00: 5* Access - 28/09/20
00:00: Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning
01:00: 5* Access - 29/09/20
02:15: The X-Files - S8 E1
03:10: The X-Files - S8 E2
04:05: The X-Files - S8 E3
04:55: Now That’s Funny - S2 E9
05:50: 5* Access
06:00: Teleshopping
09:00: Caught on Camera - S2 E9
09:30: Knight Rider - S1 E2
10:30: The A Team - S2 E9
11:30: The A Team - S2 E9
However, the Freeview TV Guide shows the following from Monday 21:00 until Tuesday 11:40:
21:00: Delta Force 2: The Columbian Connection
22:00: Access
22:10: Delta Force 2: The Columbian Connection
23:15: Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning
00:10: Access
00:15: Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning
01:35: Yellowstone
02:35: Yellowstone
03:30: Yellowstone
04:20: Yellowstone
05:10: Now That’s Funny - S2 E10
06:00: Teleshopping
09:00: Access - S2020 E40
09:10: Caught on Camera - S2 E8
09:40: Knight Rider - S1 Deadly Manoeuvres
10:40: The A Team - S2 E9
11:40: The A Team - S2 E10
With Channel 5’s TV guide showing roughly the same a the Freeview Guide (the only differences being Channel 5 only show the first “Access” of the day and don’t list “Teleshopping”):
21:00: Delta Force 2: The Columbian Connection
23:15: Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning
01:35: Yellowstone - S1 E1
02:35: Yellowstone - S1 E2
03:30: Yellowstone - S1 E3
04:20: Yellowstone - S1 E4
05:10: Now That’s Funny - S2 E10
09:00: Access - S2020 E40
09:10: Caught on Camera - S2 E8
09:40: Knight Rider - S1 E3
10:40: The A Team - S2 E9
11:40: The A Team - S2 E10
So it turns out that there are issues with:
Long 5* Access - Monday at 22:00 (2 hours) and Tuesday at 01:00 (1 hour 15 minutes)
Incorrect programmes - Wyatt Earp on Monday at 21:00 should be Delta Force 2: The Columbian Connection and 3 showings of The X-Files on Tuesday should be 4 showings of Yellowstone
Incorrect times - Programmes on Tuesday seem to start 10 minutes earlier in Plex (Not checked after the A-Team) from 09:00 rather than 09:10
Incorrect episodes - Caught on Camera and Knight Rider on Tuesday
Plex lists the interval shows as “5* Access” whilst Freeview and Channel 5 call it “Access” - Is the 5* prefix a hang up / oversight from it being first listed on the 5 Star channel?
All Creatures Great and Small. Channel 5 (HD) Tuesdays at 9pm.
Plex hasn’t managed to record a single one yet. It gets the old 70’s/80’s series confused with the new one, gets nothing if “new showings only” is ticked and even if I limit to ch5 and 9pm it has the wrong episode showing.
