It appears a fix came in just in time over the weekend so last night’s episodes were correct. However, it appears to have broken tonight’s airing of S11 E5 at 19:40 which is now showing as episode 1/9/20
I’m guessing it isn’t going to get fixed in time now but I’ve got to ask how can a previously sequenced show suddenly become unsequenced?
Part of the process is manual and this may be why issues come back
Some of the manual work now is due to needing to ensure existing show identifiers are retained (after our provider changed their source of data)
And it appears that sometimes the sequencing does not happen and become available in time and on some occasions ones get missed
At this moment, after an EPG refresh (last ingestion of EPG provider data completed and cache cleared by 10am today) we have,
BBC 1 airings of 2 episodes sequenced
Dave airings sequenced except for some airings for the 3rd October, 4th October - some airings for those days are sequenced
I will report this to our provider in view of the fact that last night’s airing was not sequenced
Thank you for highlighting this. We have a Plex Media Server issue here because the old series was also airing on channel 20 Drama.
I have referred this to our development team. There is also an EPG provider issue for the 6th October airing on channel 5 - i will refer this to our provider
And, yes, it just stayed the same. Managed to fudge it by deleting the series link and just have it recording any old episode - now I’ll change it back for next week so repeats don’t record.
OH THE JOYS OF PAYING FOR PLEX!
Also couldn’t record the US debates last night on BBC News as, of course, there was no sign of it in the guide.
Will things change when the new provider is implemeted? I won’t hold my breath…
Also just got caught out by the ‘new’ tag missing on bake off. Frustrating. Will have to watch it and the hundreds of adverts they shove down your throat on 4 on demand now.
Look at the comparison, this is both plex and emby showing the movies currently on, emby takes about 35 seconds for the epg refresh plex is taking 10 minutes, no that isn’t a figure of speech it is actual fact, emby also ISNT wrong, waiting for the justification, sa2000?
There appears to be an extra airing of “John Wick: Chapter 2” tomorrow evening/Saturday morning on Channel 5 and Channel 5 HD (Channels 005 and 105 respectively) in Plex’s guide data that shouldn’t be there:
In summary the following is being listed in Plex but you will note from the above screenshot that the 3rd entry for the movie overlaps the second but has a longer run time:
22:00: John Wick: Chapter 2
23:05: 5* Access
23:10 to 00:25: John Wick: Chapter 2
23:10 to 02:00: John Wick: Chapter 2
00:25 to 02:00: The Football Factory
02:00: The 21.co.uk Live Casino Show
04:00: Our Dream Hotel
According to Freeview this should be:
22:00: John Wick: Chapter 2
23:05: Access
23:10: John Wick: Chapter 2
00:25: The Football Factory
02:00: The 21.co.uk Live Casino Show
04:00: Our Dream Hotel
You will also note:
The rendering of “The Football Factory”, “The 21.co.uk Live Casino Show” and “Our Dream Hotel” is out by 30 minutes as a result. In fact as I am scrolling the guide, the rendering of these shows is either 1h 30m, 1 hour or 30 minutes out depending on whether the time on the top left of the guide is 00:30, 01:00 or 01:30.
I had always wondered why this thread existed when I hadn’t experienced any major issues - until this month. Infuriating lack of recordings for new episodes of Bake Off and Gogglebox. I read earlier in the thread this was fixed for Gogglebox last week, but the problem has returned I dont want to record “new and repeats” and end up with about 5 copies of shows per day!
+1 on the please get this fixed. Blaming the data provider is the kind of service I would expect from a free and open source platform. I got Plex pass as a much cheaper alternative to VM, but with ITV hub+ and the C4 equivalent recently upping their game, it won’t cost me that much more to vote with my feet and switch over and watch my TV ad-free there instead.
Appears to have resolved itself. A refresh today after today’s data update (after 10am) shows we have complete EPG data for the channel up to 15 October
I’ve just noticed that my DVR Schedule seems a little quiet on Sunday (11th October) so I’ve just popped into the guide to see what is happening and see there are a bunch of “Channel xxx Programming”, “TBA”, “To Be Announced” and "Unknown Airings for the following channels:
004: Channel 4 “Channel 4 Programming” and “TBA”
015: Channel 4+1 “Unknown Airing” and “TBA”
018: More 4 “More4 Programming”
022: Ideal “To Be Announced”
023: CCX TV “To Be Announced”
025: Yesterday “Unknown Airing”
026 ITV Be “ITVBe Programming”
028: E4 +1 “Unknown Airing”
029: 4 Music “4Music Programming”
038: Quest Red “Quest Red Programming”
045: Film 4 +1 “Film4 Programming”
063: Blaze “Blaze Programming”
066: CBS Reality “CBS Reality Programming”
075: Yesterday +1 “Unknown Airing”
080: Blaze +1 “Blaze Programming”
097 ITV Be +1 “ITVBe Programming”
104: Channel 4 HD “Unknown Airing” and “TBA”
I have referred the errors with the airings for these to our provider
The Great British Bake Off
The Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice
They are setup as two different series which is right as they have same sequencing - The New indicator is wrong for some airings and also one of the airings for “The Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice” was showing as “The Great British Bake Off”
We appear to have some gaps in the schedules and we need to do a full ingestion to correct these gaps. Gaps result in “Unknown Airings”
I have checked Gogglebox airings and the current position after a refresh today (after 10am), shows that the “New” indicator is set for today’s 22:30 airing (6th Oct) and the 9th october 21:00 airing. It is wrong for today. According to the channel schedule today’s is a repeat of the 2nd October airing.
I will refer the anomalies to our provider.
Please note that we currentlt have some gaps in the schedules which will be corrected once a full ingestion is run. The gaps result in “unknown airing” entries and also inconsistencies between Channel 4 and Channel 4 HD and Channel 4 +1
The 9th October airing is at this minute only showing on the SD channel and not on C4+1 or Channel 4 HD
