No content with the new mobile app

Hi!

Since updating to the new application, no content is being displayed. Based on the logs, it seems like it can’t connect to the server, even though there was no such issue with the old app. Also, when accessing it directly via a browser, it works just fine. What am I doing wrong?

What does “no content is being displayed” mean? That could be many things to us since we can’t see what you’re seeing. It would really help if you were more descriptive.

Is the UI loading? Is it saying it can’t connect to the server? Can you still see your library but it’s empty?

When I open the app, I’m immediately greeted with a “No content” message (first screenshot). I understand that you first need to select items from the libraries and “like” them, but this is already a flawed concept. However, when I try to select a library, I’m met with a message saying there are no libraries available (second screenshot). Yet, I do have two servers, and they are accessible (third screenshot). When I check the log file, it seems that the app cannot reach either of my servers, even though everything still works perfectly with the old app.

What happens if you do a long press on the Libraries button on the bottom right?

See the second screenshot. A panel with an empty list and a suggestion to download an additional Plex app.

You don’t have multiple accounts do you? Can you double-check that the one that’s able to see your library is on the same account as the one that can’t? Maybe multiple server instances?

Can you try with a custom DNS server setting?
Use either Google’s 8.8.8.8 or Clouflare’s 1.1.1.1

And another crazy idea:
Edit the name of your phone and avoid putting in any special letters, e.g. those with diacritics like ó or ü
Then forced close the app and reboot the phone. I wonder if this could make a difference.

Hm. Changing the phone name helped. I would have never thought of that. Thanks for the idea.
