For some reason, the latest version of Plex Media Server causes Internet to be blocked even on a clean operating system. I thought it was another third party application causing the problem, but the problem disappears once I quit, delete and restart the Mac mini. Quitting Plex Media Server alone doesn’t solve the problem. This is on Mac mini (M1, 2020) on macOS Ventura 13.1 (22C65).
Please check if your ISP has any sort of security feature that may be blocking plex urls. We have had a few reports recently of folks losing internet and all were related to their ISP security features blocking domains/urls they decided were a problem.
Thank you! They’re describing the exact same problem I’m having. I figured it was a Firewall creating the issue. I enabled Home Network Protection via the My Fios app a couple of months ago. It doesn’t currently have a whitelist for domain names, but it does have an option to disable specific devices, which did the trick. I suppose Fios uses a list from McAfee for the Home Network Protection feature on their routers. They must be trying to prevent piracy without taking into account legal usage of Plex Media Server.
